The Haycock Manor Hotel, hotel in Wansford

Set in its own award-winning gardens, The Haycock Manor Hotel is located in the village of Wansford on the edge of the A1 Motorway.

Where to start! The staff (Rachel, James, Hugh, Abbie and Luda) were exceptionally helpful. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the lounge/bar facilities perfect and the bedroom large, comfortable, light and with garden access. The ambience is relaxed chic and the food was fabulous. The high end restaurant was beautiful with "bird cages" for groups which gave a fab atmosphere and food was super. The location by the river Nene was lovely and there is a nice bar in the village, too.

This is a recently refurbished old hotel which has had no expense spared to bring it up to a very high standard. The ambience is excellent, high level of finishing and comfort. Wansford is a charming old village which is very quiet. The hotel sits next to the River Nene giving a lovely peaceful rural feel. A great place to meet friends and stay.

A beautiful village that has very easy access to all the main routes. The properties in the village have great charm and elegance with not a piece of litter in site. The residents are clearly, and rightly so, very proud of their village. There is a hotel and a very inviting pub/restaurant (both dog friendly) there are also some lovely little shops and a Post Office.

met up with family and went for a short wander along to The Paper Mills for a drink on Sunday evening and was astonished that the pub shut at 20:00pm !!! however the Cross Keys a bit further up the road was open until a sensible time 23:00pm so they had some of our money

The Haycock Hotel was great with a lovely cafe across the road and pub. It was also handy to have a corner shop to get the paper in the morning. There were lovely walks from the village and not too far to nearby villages with good pubs for a drink or meals. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Everything was really very good, but the whole place is VERY worn. Staff all good, evening meal (Food) very good, just a very unfriendly restaurant atmosphere. Table very plain. No music, TV on but couldn't hear it! Was no clean path up to the reception. Don't think it had been swept for weeks?

First impression the hotel from the outside looks nice But the standard of the quality of workmanship on the return is poor The service is so slow and you can wait at reception for more than 10 mins Breakfast looks good with no flavour Our entrance to our room was covered in fly’s and the damp smell is horrid but the staff can’t see the fly’s nor can they smell damp

The hotel has recently been refurbished and both our bedroom and all the communal areas were beautifully decorated. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel which were both excellent. We really liked the hotel, which is conveniently located next to the A1, and will definitely return this year. The village is pretty as well.
