Really nice location, handy for walks yet nice and quiet to relax as not in a busy town. Car park for guests too.
The owners are lovely and friendly staff, really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
We had an evening meal in the bar, the food was delicious. It was a cosy setting in the bar with the log fire.
The rooms are clean and we had everything we needed.
We look forward to our next trip soon and would stay here again.

There isn't really anything at Troutbeck apart from a couple of B+B's and the pub (with rooms). Its not a destination, but a great base for exploring the lake district without spending a fortune on accommodation.

It was our first stay in troutbeck which is ideally located for exploring the north lakes just 15mins from Keswick and derwent water without getting into the thick of the crowds. You can experience the beauty of the countryside but still be near to everything. Also 15mins to Aira force which we also visited which is always amazingly beautiful. In 15 mins you can also get to Ulswater where we tried to catch the sunrise. In Threlkeld which is not to far off we discovered a lovely off the road coffee shop Threlkeld coffee shop that made some excellent coffee and cakes and was great to stop by. We stayed at Lane Farm Country guest house which was an amazing stay with a lovely hostess. Would definately choose this location again.

Small but warm, clean, cosy pods with everything required for a short break. Good signage, no troubles to find the farm, as visible from the main road. Although located not far from the road, no noise or nuisance. Absolutely loved the location and surroundings. We found essentials required for our holiday inside the pod. No interaction with anyone whilst checking in or out. No disturbance, just peace and the beauty of the Lake District. We were able to prepare meals inside or enjoy dinning out in a local restaurants. Definitely will go back in a future.

Stopped here with two dogs to break a long drive.
Stopped here with two dogs to break a long drive. Not far off motorway and it’s a nice old building. Room was pleasant but would have been a bit of a squash for two. There is no sitting room so would have been a bit confining if there for a longer stay. If planning to eat there in the evening you need to book ahead. I didn’t and couldn’t get a meal. Troutbeck is barely a village surrounded by stunning scenery just off the Keswick road ( which was quite noisy). Pleasant front of house staff ( there was only one). Easy location if you wanted to see more of the area.

Right on a main road so very noisy.
Right on a main road so very noisy. I’d booked to eat in the pub well in advance, but they told me when I got there they weren’t doing food on the Monday/Tuesday night. The pub’s garden is in the car park. If you’re only going to sleep in Troutbeck then there are friendly good value options. A good base location for the northern wainwright’s if you only need a base.
We have stopped in these apartments on numerous occasions and knew what to expect and it didn,t fail to meet. The aspect from this particular apartment was quite spectacular with a great vista. We enjoyed having everything to hand, opportunity to swim and the choice of self catering or dining in the hotel restaurant.
Communications between ourselves and our host Kathryn was first class with nothing being too much trouble and she even organised a secure storage facility for our cycles!
We had a very pleasant stay at the Troutbeck Inn and will very likely book another night there next time we are in the area. The inn is perfectly situated between Penrith and Keswick and is just off the main road so it is nice and quiet. Blencathra is within sight.
The owners were exceptionally friendly and we really appreciated the fact the inn welcomes dogs. The cooked breakfast was excellent and really set us up for our onward journey.
Really friendly owner
Dean went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay.
Even letting us know to book a table at the pub across the road(the Troutbeck inn) as they took reservations only for in door eating
Breakfast was wonderful we had yoghurt and museli, fresh orange juice pot of tea and poached eggs and kippers with toast
Lovely place to stay would recommend
We enjoyed our stay here and also liked our apartment style room facilities everything you would need. Good central location with a old fashioned pub 2 mile away. The hotel restaurant we went to most nights and the food we had was good, along with the hotel facilities pool etc which we used. Would visit again if we were in this part of the world☺️
The hosts were super friendly and helpful. It’s lovely to have b&b’s which are truly dog friendly. Delicious breakfasts and the hosts were truly eager to please guests and offer extra refreshments. It was a nice touch to get advice of nice walks nearby. The Troutbeck inn over the road (literally!) also serves delicious food which is a bonus.
It was my fifth stay at troutbeck, and the location in the north lakes is great for the hiking I had planned.
The accommodation is very homely and comfortable.
The owners and staff were great as usual, nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast a proper meal, well cooked and well prepared.
Even Ursus my dog got a little.😀
Ullswater suite was a beautiful room. It was very clean and comfortable. The facilities were good and there was lots to do. The food in the restaurant was lovely aswell. It was in a good location to explore the Lake District. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
Amazing hotel in a superb location for walking. The room was so clean and very spacious. Brilliant hosts, will definitely be recommending to family and friends. Can’t wait to return.
