The hut was lovely -particularly appreciated the eco values & compost loo. Nice area, and lots of options for food and things to do locally.
Had a very warm welcome from the hosts, and also in the nearby town which was really friendly too.

Lovingly renovated and cared-for, family-run property in quiet, countryside location, near to the historical town of Dumfries. Room spacious and tastefully furnished, as is the guest lounge. Very good breakfast and dinner options in fabulous dining rooms. Thank you to Janice, George I and George II, for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommended.

Friendly town, lovely meal in the Queensferryand Buccleuch Hotel, and excellent Chinese takeaway too. There were loads of cafes and a couple of independent shops, and well stocked Co op and Spar. Had a good walk in the grounds at nearby Drumlanrig Castle.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10
Lovely location for exploring south west Scotland.
Lovely location for exploring south west Scotland. Very close to Drumlanrig Castle amazing country walks and spectacular castle. Went to the beach at Carse which was great for dog walks. Thornhill itself had a lovely local pub with good valued food. Local bakery and butchers plus Co-op and Spar.

Thornhill is a really quiet place but its in a great location for exploring the surrounding areas and makes a change from the overcrowded Lake District. Having said that there are very few other options in the town for eating and drinking.

The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, far comfier than I've ever had staying in a hotel! I loved the decor and getting up in the morning to birds singing and the most wonderful view definitely topped it off. Zoe and Tony were a lovely couple and very welcoming. We will be staying again!
