What an absolute hidden gem this little find is. Beautiful location overlooking Ben Nevis . You have your own parking place and entrance, which is a little gated decking area . The property is well equipped, with little sofa ,bathroom. Kitchen. The double bed, which is super comfy, we had the best nights sleep . The hosts left us a lovely gift as it was our 31st wedding anniversary. It was a 10 minute walk to the old station Inn where we enjoyed a lovely evening meal . This is a delightful place to stay and one not to be missed . Will definitely be going back .
Distant Hills is a modern couple-run guest house providing a good quality Bed and Breakfast service.

This was a lovely place to stay. Our rooms were small but very comfortable. Our room had only just been completely renovated so it was fresh and clean. Breakfast was included and it was delicious with a choice of cereal, toast and/or cooked. Parking on site was available.
We had a lovely evening meal at the local pub which was within easy walking distance of the house (5 minutes), meaning we did not have to worry about having a wine with dinner and then driving.

Awesome stay and will definitely book here again! Thank you for all your hospitality Lynne, as well as the home- baked blueberry muffins. The breakfast is more than enough and the black pudding the best we have had on our trip. 10 out of 10!

Spean Bridge is a pretty little place with some stunning walks and scenery. The shop has everything you need for your stay and there is also a Post office. There wasn't a huge selection of places to eat or drink and some were closed when we were there but it was probably just the time of year and we ventured into Fort William which has plenty of choice to eat and drink.

Beautiful Small Village tucked away from the Hussle and bustle. Quite and Peaceful area. Mai Bus root to Fort William and surrounding area's.
Locals are so helpful and supportive, specially, i was waiting for a bus to turn up for a while when a beautiful lady turned up and asked me if i was okay as she had noticed me being waiting at bus stop quite a while.

It's a good place to explore the area.
It's a good place to explore the area. Spean Bridge itself is tiny, but has one excellent restaurant at the Old Station. There are some other places but they are only open until 4 or 5, so I did not visit those. For additional options, you'd have to take a 15-minute drive to the next town over (Fort William).
My hotel - Highland Bridge Hotel - has a pub attached that was frequented every night by the locals. So there is a place to hang out if you must.
Overall a good location to explore the Scottish countryside. Considering everywhere you have to go will take you an hour, it isn't so bad you're basically 15 minutes out of town.

We felt safe and secure in our accommodation.
We felt safe and secure in our accommodation. Felt intimidated by locals who got angry with us for not breaking the speed restrictions and we were not alone that felt this! Not much to do in the actual village itself but is a good base to venture out, the b and b we stayed in though was a pleasure to come home to - Braelea, run by Margaret. A fabulous lady with knowledge for days out. We are in restaurants recommended by Margaret.

Rosebank is owned by wonderful lady by the name of Teresa, who reminds you of your favourite aunt whom you rarely see but welcomes you with open arms. She made us feel like we'd been there before, set a lovely table with lots of breakfast options, keeps an immaculate house with very comfortable accommodations and genuinely made us feel like we were home. I would HIGHLY recommend Rosebank to anyone staying near Ft. William or Spean Bridge. I wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be booking with here for our next trip

The main reason we visited Spean Bridge was to climb Ben Nevis. There were plenty of other activities around, I would recommend West Highland Outdoor Centre for a Segway tour. Highland Soap Company is worth a visit, they do great coffee too.
Very nice and clean property with lovely views. We had a very comfortable couple of nights in a family room. The kids loved having a bed each instead of their normal sofa bed we tend to get in family rooms in hotels. The facilities were ideal for a family weekend break up in Scotland to climb Ben Nevis. Fort William is only a short drive away. The couple made us feel very welcome and were attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast too. Would definitely stay here again. X x
We stayed at the hotel whilst Munro Bagging and it was a good base for this. We stayed in one of the chalets and it was spotlessly clean and was comfortable. The food was good and plentiful, the breakfasts more than adequate for a long day's walk. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We have seen a number of negative reviews, but that was not our experience of this hotel and we will use them again.
Smiddy House deserves more than 2 AA Stars. Exceptional place to stay. Extremely clean and very thoughtful of any amenity a traveler might need. The food at Russels Restaurant deserves a Michelin Rating and is priced fairly moderately. The hosts are the best by far! Robert makes you feel like an old friend just came for a visit. Smiddy House isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an experience.
Teresa was super helpful and welcoming, responding quickly to our requests (e.g. dietary preferences for breakfast) and making restaurant recommendations. The room was exceptional: very clean, comfortable and the view towards the Nevis range is stunning. Peaceful, picturesque setting in beautiful gardens and quiet village not far from Fort William. We had a very relaxing, restful stay.
10/10 for the host. Karin was amazing; friendly, nice, and chatty. Room is small but has everything it needs.
A nice benefit is the pub in the same building with reasonably priced drinks; here you can watch sports with the locals and it's quite busy on Friday night, but I didn't hear any of it after going to bed.
Hotel in a very quiet location. Dinner may be served upon request.
Teresa was the ultimate host! She makes the best whiskey porridge we tasted in all of Scotland. It was creamy, the perfect balance of flavors, and a great start to the day! The cheerful room decorated with shades of gold and white overlooked the gorgeous front garden and felt luxurious. After a long journey, Teresa's warm welcome and homey touches felt like an oasis for us.
Amazing place, Views around, lakes and mountains. Good location, close to Fort William and Fort Augustus, Loch Ness lake. Quiet peaceful place, cozy and clean inside bothies. There are all amenities such as kettle, dishes. Access to any other facilities. Pet-friendly place. Highly recommended 😊
Very good location for doing the Great Glen Way walk, easy to find and well sign-posted. Dormitory style accommodation with kitchen for use by guests and also serving dinner and other meals. Good value for money and very helpful team running the hostel. No stresses and comfortable stay, thanks.
The location was stunning, loved the approach on the road with views across to Ben Nevis road. Near to Fort William, Glencoe. Nice restaurants nearby, The Old Station and Whispering Pines were lovely. There was enough space for two couples comfortably. Very, very clean.
Marjory and Willie were excellent hosts. Great welcome. Very helpful. Beautiful B&B. Very clean. Marjory was kind enough to give us a lift home from Spean Bridge so that we could enjoy wine with our dinner. Highly recommend in every respect.
The hotel describes itself as a restaurant with rooms and that is very accurate. The food is excellent and the rooms are a comfortable place to stay. A friendly B&B with a great restaurant. The owners/staff were very helpful and attentive.
Well laid out and arranged accommodation. Comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Location in Spean Bridge was OK.
Parking was easy at the door. Security was fine. Host and hostess were chatty and helpful
Good breakfast, apartment room. The host offered transport to the Great Glen Way next morning, as the location is several km from Spean Bridge and the Great Glen Way. We really enjoyed the stay.
The host was just amazing.. went out of the way and made us dinner at a late hour since we were late back to the hotel after going to Isle of Skye and all the restaurants were closed.
The beddings were clean. The place has parking facility. The place also has a restaurant where you can get order food. No complimentary breakfast in my stay.
