My basic recommendation is that I would return at the drop of a hat. So close to the Broads for day boats, canoes, walks, cycling and nature. Holckam Beach is a must to see the colony of seals any time of year hauled out on the beach. But please do not get so close that you disturb them. They are amazingly tolerant of people, however they are wild animals and should be treated with respect.

Very close to the Broads with many boating opportunities ( we hired an electric day boat) Excellent walks and cycle rides through quiet lanes ( we even cycled to the sea). Good pubs. Ancient churches ( the 15thC screen at Ranworth is amazing). Lots of bird life ( we saw barn owl hunting in daytime, marsh harriers etc)
