This hotel was very tired and could go with a luck of paint… the bathroom was grubby.. toilet seat had black marks where it had had the enamel scratched off the shower glass had mould at the bottom of it and the shower may was grubby underneath… also the entire room was lacking in any light.. the fans from the kitchen were a constant hum and the bed linen wasn’t big enough for the two single beds they’d put together .. we booked for 2 nights but left after one… the staff were great and food was ok but accommodation was shocking… also accommodation want even in the pub but around the corner I would like someone from customer services to contact me direct about the entire experience please

A very interesting town.
A very interesting town. The castle and gardens are well worth a visit. Also the Abbey is magnificent along with the area ribs about. The high street has plenty of interest, with several independent cafes and shops. The town is architecturally attractive. Plenty of cat parks.
The barn had been tastefully converted and was clean and tidy. All the rooms were spacious and suited our needs. The bathrooms were modern and basins had a soap pump. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of crockery so you could run a full dishwasher. As in the description the kitchen had some basics (salt, pepper, oil, coffee, tea, washing up liquid) and the milk, biscuits, crisps and a bottle of wine were a nice and welcoming touch.
The barn was in a quiet location and was close to Sherborne and not far from Yeovil.
The location is wonderful, especially with the surrounding countryside offering various walks and the bonus of a working commercial bakery next door :-) Annie and Colin were the perfect hosts, giving enough space for us but we knew they were always available if there were any problems. Sherborne is a lovely well-appointed town with lots to see even in limited lockdown. The breakfast was delicious with local produce much in evidence - the cereal lasted us all week. Convenient parking. Able to use the garden for R&R.
The location fantastic; the staff friendly and helpful; the room superb in furnishings and spotlessly clean; the decor in the room and around the hotel was fabulous; the food was absolutely delicious; the peace and quiet was blissful; it was simply a wonderful stay in an excellent hotel and we can't wait to go back...what a find, delighted! It might be a 3* in facilities (even though it had everything we wanted/needed) but it is unquestionably a 4* in quality and service standards.
The staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and they remembered our preferences for certain things, full of local knowledge and a warm welcome for us and our dog. The location was perfect for spending time in the beautiful town of Sherborne and the free parking was a bonus. Our room was beautiful with a little courtyard patio making our stay with a dog easier and the setting of the hotel is so pretty and very well maintained.
Breakfast was 9/10, the service was excellent and efficient, and our waitress was friendly - just the job for first thing in the morning. The location was perfect, right in the heart of Sherborne. Parking was an easy stroll from the hotel, but you could have made it more clear that although there were park and pay signs, as guests, we were exempt. The many electrical sockets and usb charge points was appreciated.
Fantastic location and very good food in the evening and for breakfast. Good ambience in the bar and restaurant.
It is so nice to stay in a hotel that is not part of a chain. The owners were on hand and really cared about giving a friendly and memorable experience. Top marks for this
Bedroom was a bit disappointing. Somewhat drab and needed a bit of TLC but the overall stay was great
A lovely cosy and comfortable little cottage set in a quiet and pretty courtyard. It's in a small village just a very short drive from Sherborne and is a good location for visiting other interesting parts of Dorset and Somerset. Very friendly welcome from the owner who had provided a good DIY breakfast. Nicely decorated , lovely big soft bath sheets for the shower.
The bedroom was spacious, light and very pretty, with lovely furniture and textiles. The bathroom was large, with a claw-foot bath, a spacious shower and 2 x basins. The house is interesting and attractive and very close to Sherborne. Hosts were friendly, helpful and flexible. The breakfast was generous and tasty, made with free-range and local produce.
Unbelievable food, very hospitable staff, lovely location. We didn't get the best weather for walking but did go into Sherborne for the Saturday market which is beautiful and visited Haynes Motor Museum on the way home on Sunday which was a brilliant morning out.
The location in Sherborne is perfect. It is right in the center of shops, restaurants and cultural attractions. The apartment is roomy, clean, quiet, and attractive. Our host, Paul, was easily available to answer any questions. We felt well cared for.
Susie and her Claire Cottage were fantastic! Beautiful historic home that was within walking distance of all of Sherborne's best attractions, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Breakfast was scrumptious. A day trip to Lulworth Cove is highly recommended.
Host was pleasant and greeted me on arrival and showed me around. Spacious accommodation built over the hosts garage. Very comfy bed and was lovely waking up to a scenic landscape and birds singing. Property not far from Sherborne.
A cleverly appointed studio minutes from Sherborne station. Has everything a couple or small family would need for a short stay. Very clean and comfortable. All the little touches like the wireless phone charger were much appreciated.
Lovely country hotel. Comfortable room, good quality bedding and a decent shower. Staff were friendly and obliging, any requests were responded to quickly.
