Fabulous space that was cosy and very clean. The Host, Debbie, made sure we were comfortable and how to contact her if needed. Very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Really liked the option of either collecting breakfast to take back to your room or dine in the room next to reception. Great location with access to local bus routes and village

Loftus is a friendly town. There are some lovely homes in the town and a number of attractive eateries and pubs. Mainly, the town is a great base for exploring the coastal region and nearby countryside whether walking or driving.

The estate surrounds the Grinkle Park Hotel and so insulates it from the village proper. Our stay was too short than to permit a drive-through, but looked pleasant. A very pleasant stop-over en route north to south or vice-versa.

Nice town with the access to the coastal path.
Nice town with the access to the coastal path. Short drive to stunning Staithes and Runswick Bay. Saltburn only 10 min away and Whitby is about 20 min drive. Co-op on the high street does fresh baguettes every morning. There is also nice cafe on the Hight Street, only few minutes walk from the house.

Grinkle Park sits in its own grounds and you have to travel to get to Loftus. Perhaps Loftus is not totally ready for tourists but is interesting and the other villages around it are great as are the coastal towns and villages. There is the mining museum and Skinningrove has a beautiful sandy beach and fantastic views and the locals are welcoming. There are lots of community cafes and farm shops and if you want to know anything, just ask.

Beautiful sunsets.
We do not have a dog ourselves but the dog friendly beach was clean and the people walking their dogs kept them under control.
No negatives.

Loftus itself is very run down. An old mining town.
Loftus itself is very run down. An old mining town. However, the hotel is located adjacent fabulous coutryside and the hotel itself stands in wonderful grounds with a quarter mile drive bordered by beautiful , Staithesrhododendrons in full bloom at this time of year.
We ate evening meal 3 nights our of four. The food was excellent.
Wouldn't avoid anywhere. We discovered the North Yorks Moors and nearby coastal resorts. (Whitby, Saltburn-by-the-Sea
The house has recently been renovated to a high standard. There is plenty of living space with 5 rooms downstairs, which is great if you are travelling with extended family/ a large group as it’s great for mixing and socialising. Bathrooms were new and bedrooms recently decorated with new bedding. Loftus provide easy access to Staithes/saltburn and Whitby. Thanks Richard and Angela for a great stay 😊
Fabulous host, clean and comfy room, great bar and free use of games including a football and pool table, and the breakfast choice was extensive and delicious. The hotel is a few minutes from a beautiful beach and coastal walks. The village itself is lacking in amenities but didn’t detract from our weekend at all. Would definitely stay again!
Loftus is not as pretty as other nearby tourist destinations such as Staithes but the property was well located to get to Staithes, Whitby and Saltburn. The property had new OS maps plus detailed descriptions of local walks. It was very clean and well presented with lots of supplies available including milk, tea, coffee and biscuits.
Helen is an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely with a great bathroom. Breakfast was delicious as were Helen's famous muffins. The hotel has a real boutique feel with lots of personality. We would highly recommend and will certainly be returning in future.
We really enjoyed our stay in park 1 Loftus, The apartment was lovely and very clean the owners Ian and Vanessa who we saw a few times during our stay and asked us if we needed anything and were very nice to talk too.
The grounds and scenery around the hotel were amazing, lovely food and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful in sorting out the details for approx 40 guests at our wedding - fantastic overall experience.
from the greeting on arrival to the day I left nothing was too much trouble the hotel was amazing very clean the room was amazing the breakfast were more than plentiful and very well presented
The staff were all very friendly.
The room was large and comfortable apart from the temperature.
The hotel was well looked after and looked nice. The grounds were lovely.
