Sue is a wonderful host - kind and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble - from early breakfasts to going out of her way to help us with a dietary request. Highly recommended

We stayed at Rose cottage for 2 nights and couldn't have been happier with our stay. First, the inn keepers Steve and Liz are lovely, thoughtful, friendly hosts without being intrusive. Their rooms are well renovated spaces in a very old building. Their rooms are well and tastefully remodeled. The shower was hot with good pressure. The room was impeccably clean and had thoughtful touches like mugs and hot water pot for tea, some biscuits, glasses for water at night, a nice, thick, warm duvet. Everything had its place. The ceilings were low in our bedroom and bathroom (because again it's a centuries old building), so if charm isn't for you, then likely this isn't the right place! Breakfast was really delicious. Even the bread was homemade! There was a little apartment sized fridge for a small number of your own food items. Liz made great suggestions as to where to park in Lincoln (which was spot on!) and lent us her year long pass to the Cathedral which saved us 22 pounds. We'd stay here again for sure!

The staff were very friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable and we asked if they could do something about it. The next day they changed the mattress for a new one which was perfect.

Lovely quiet village. Farm shop minutes from the cottage with everything you need, a couple of miles up the road in Navenby there are takeaways, cafes, bakery, co-op.
Grantham is about eight miles away which is a bustling town and Newark a bit further up has a thriving market most days of the week.
