A fine location on the Old Way pilgrim trail, which we were following, plus the numerous pathways on the South Downs. It was tucked away and quiet. The accommodation was pristine and new.

I liked that the bedroom was self contained and immediately accessible from the car park making transfer of bags so easy. On the downside because the room was quite compact there was insufficient room for a wardrobe..this was accomplished by fixing a rail to the ceiling beam( could have been aggravating if we'd stayed more than one night. )All in all the room was very comfortable.

The Roebuck was a country in with lots of character.
The Roebuck was a country in with lots of character. We stayed while visiting National Trust, historic places ,local countryside. Adam, in charge, made us very welcome.
We would have liked more traditional (plain) food on the evening menu. there did seem to be a good choice for vegetarians.
The breakfast was really good with a good choice of cereals. fruits, seeds etc and home made yoghurt as well as a cooked breakfast.
Parking was plentiful and near the room which was on the ground floor at the back of the inn
