The staff were friendly & accomodating. We needed an early breakfast, which we got. On our return, they had remembered we'd done a cycling trip & enquired bout it.

Fantastic country house set on generous estate with private lake. Owner greeted me on arrival and showed me around. Fantastic bedroom and majestic bathroom. Bath towels were so soft and lovely to touch.

With the canal running straight through the town there was ample opportunity to have a stroll & many cafes, bars etc for the weary traveller. The Park at the bottom end of town was lovely & the war memorials & historic connections Appenine Wall, Romans etc was interesting. The large children's play area was busy & the children seemed to enjoy the facilities. The main street is quite long & the variety of shops was very pleasing with virtually now boarded up premises.
Beautifully renovated hotel, the food was a highlight!
The hotel is recently renovated but keeps snippets of its history.
We had booked 3 bedrooms, as we have a big family. Unfortunately the beds weren't suitable for two members of our group - both over 6ft. In general the rooms were a little snug, as we didn't spend too much time in the room it was manageable.
I would stay at this hotel again, if I was visiting Glasgow again.
This was the first time my wife and I had visited the hotel since our wedding reception back in 1972. We really enjoyed our stay from the moment we crossed the threshold until we left. All the staff we met were most accommodating and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our large room was well appointed with everything we required for an excellent stay.
Exellent hotel just outside Glasgow. The decor and room were spotless. There's a lovely conservatory and a cosy bar with a real fire in the old stables. Breakfast was simple but good - and in the evenings the menu includes a few curry options. The bathroom looked spanking new and nice toiletries by Highland Fine Soap. Wonderful value for money.
This is a beautiful hotel that has recently been renovated to a high standard. The staff were lovely. So attentive and friendly, we felt well looked after throughout our stay. Our breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and in a lovely setting. Would highly recommend to anyone planning on visiting there area. 😁
It was like a home from home, we had everything we needed for a relaxing, comfortable stay. Loved the electric blankets on the beds, en suite bathroom made a big difference. The walk to Kirkintilloch by the water was lovely, recommend it.
Beautiful hotel and beautiful garden, our room was very clean with a big cosy comfy bed, staff were nice and friendly. We had a lovely cooked breakfast before we went home. Would recommend it to anyone.
