Holiday Inn Derby/Nottingham, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Ilkeston

Located at junction 25 of the M1, this pet friendly Holiday Inn is 8.1 mi from Nottingham and Derby. All rooms are en suite and have high speed internet access.

The room was quiet, but there was a faulty air conditioner / heater unit that automatically started up at 7:00am each morning, making sound like heavy raining on a tin roof. This was a bit disturbing and it woke me up. I did report it to reception, so I can only hope that this was rectified ready for the next guest to use that room. The room was at the end of a corridor, meaning no footfall of other guests passing by so was very quiet in that respect.

this place what can I say the town center needs a lot of work it's dead unless you like phone shops and pubs, the area needs investment and with the right kinds of shops could become a tourist hotspot seeing the local sites and so close to the dales and Matlock area, but the outer parts of town are lovely with great areas of green lovely houses and old miners homes but there is a lot of crime and kids hanging around and this is a worry why do I come here I invested in the area as longterm I see tourists stopping here but until the council improve the high street and fill the shops little will change. this town is busy as the fair shows bring people into town have farmers markets and use the space you have you will see a change ,
