Royal Victoria Hotel, hotel in Hastings

With a fine position on the seafront in St. Leonards-on-Sea, this hotel offers traditional hospitality and a friendly atmosphere.

Right by the sea, 1st floor bar and restaurant overlooking the sea through large windows. Decent restaurant menu with generous plates. Good to have coffee and tea in the room which is very large by modern standards. Definitely an historical flair! I could imagine Miss Marple having a tea there :).

Your hotel is in an excellent position for both Hastings and Bexhill.Good bus service too.We prefere the old part of Hastings...lots of quaint shops, eateries and history. But we also like the Priory shopping mall so all in all both husband and I satisfied. Will book for longer next time.Popped into Mcdonalds but the hotel restaurant suited all our needs.

Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many...

Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many towns. The Old Town area which was a little run down on my last visit has now been restored with many restaurants and the narrow streets had a friendly vibe missing from places like The Lanes in Brighton. The town centre is nothing special but only has a few empty shops. St Leonards seems to be its more upmarket twin although the transition between towns is seamless. The coastal area is varied including an under cover "bottle alley" and some good coffee shops (Goat Ledge being my favourite with a hippy vibe). It also felt safe with groups of people of all ages just enjoying being outdoors by the sea with some music. There seem to be plentiful buses to explore further afield and there are two funicular lifts to the top of the cliffs for a more scenic view and to visit the castle. Other towns on the south coast may have a better reputation, but I doubt that you'd get a hotel with sea view at such an affordable price and the locals are universally friendly.

Being a resident of Hastings for most of my life, The town like many others has it's up and downs, The area of St Leonards is peppered with bars and eateries as is the Old town of Hastings. I can't recommend enough an Italian gem La Bella Vista on the seafront of St Leonards.

Hastings always has a lot to offer but going off season means a lot of the places are not open. But there is still plenty to see and do good variety of coffee shops restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. St Leonard’s, Bexhill, Eastbourne and Brighton are all within driving distance. George st has loads of quirky shops to browse in. In peak season the fair ground and amusement arcades are great for the kids. Highly recommended. Maggies is best for fish & chips Two bulls for steak. Or go to Bentleys steakhouse in bexhill for the best steak experience plenty of Italian eateries. And there are 3 great wet fish and seafood outlets at Rockanoor

We loved the vibrancy of independent shops and cafes in the Old Town, the mixture of fishing heritage and culture and seaside. Freshly made pizzas created and served with love at Monellis not to be missed.

Lovely seaside town for a day.

Lovely seaside town for a day. But one more day to do The Battle Abbey which is 17 mins train ride and very easy. A few nice restaurants like the Thai in the book shop, Ladle was fantastic and so was the Porters Sunday roast (the veg roast option was delicious). The contemporary art museum had two very good exhibitions, and the shipwreck museum plus the fisherman’s museum were nice to walk through. The local history house is very nice and worth spending 15-30 mins. The book shop (the hare and hawthorn) is lovely.

The house was amazing, it was a historians dream, we loved looking at all the artifacts and pictures around the house. The breakfast was fab, there was so much choice. We had tea and coffee facilities in the room, and it was nice not to have a TV in the room. The welcome was lovely and the host made us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again if we visits Hastings again. Easy to park right outside the house. Thank you for a wonderful experience, the photos do not do it justice. The hotel should be upgraded to a 3 star hotel

Rooms, breakfast, location, terrace, views, value Hotel has the best kerb appeal along the seafront and is well located, away from the more lively area towards the old town Picked this over the Travelodge - cheaper and soo much better - very glad of that decision. Free parking in the hotel car park, if you are able to get a space. Breakfasts made to order, much nicer than a buffet style system and very nice food - plus a discount for residents Evening meal was good value too Fans in the rooms helped during the heatwave

This is probably (for us) the best hotel in Hastings 😍 Situated between the Old Town and Town Center. We had the room with balcony. It has the best view. Downstairs there is the fish and chips shop. 🤤 We enjoyed breakfast at the Cornish Bakery and at Petit Fi. Evenings in Ye Old Pump House, and around the corner The Jenny Lind. All within walking distance.

Stayed for work purposes and found Ian and Beverley tremendous hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. My room was superb and very comfortable. If you are looking to stay in Hastings or the surrounding area for work or pleasure give Hastings House a try. If you like your curries the Ghurkha Chef just around the corner from the hotel is superb.

Great size for 6 adults and the views over Hastings are amazing. Free parking, on the drive and the road. The hot tub was so relaxing, we used it loads. It is out of town but there are shops in walking distance to pick up food. We did walk to Hastings which was about 40 minutes but the bus stops outside so that is a good option as well.
