The hosts were welcoming and the food was amazing! Everything was home cooked and baked, of the area and in season. Fabulous. The hiking trails leaving from the hotel were great and the train station very close. Loch Shiel is so beautiful. Staying here allows you to see the viaduct and loch when there are few tourists.

The management and staff were exceptional. They were always helpful (going the extra mile), and greeted every day with a smile. The breakfast room and dining room were really nice, and the food in the dining room was very good. Service was excellent, quick, polite and entered into light banter very well. The outlook over the loch from both rooms was fantastic. Car parking was easy and the overall location was perfect for exploring Glencoe and the Western Highlands

We loved the room, and the window was perfectly over the water for sunset. Also the bath was lovely. We had an excellent dinner at Silly Goose, one of the best meals of our whole trip and exceptional service. We also had a lovely breakfast.

The rooms are exceptionally small but this is thematically appropriate. After all, they are similar to cells!
The bed was great and everything seemed clean enough.
The rooms, due to the limited space do not have kettles inside but they offer free of charge use of a machine in the kitchen/bar area that can make much more than simply hot water.
Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, this property is located 12 miles, or a 30-minute drive, from the south of Fort William in the Highlands of Scotland. This hotel overlooks Loch Linnhe.
Glenfinnan is stunning! I was there for a wedding at the Glenfinnan House Hotel, so I didn't get a chance to visit the landmarks in town, but I did get a chance to Loch Shiel and it is gorgeous. I wish I had had more time to tour around, but I got a taste of the beauty and tranquility of the area. I would love to go back and visit someday.

Nice little area with a couple of Hotel / restaurants.
Nice little area with a couple of Hotel / restaurants. Once you've seen the viaduct, the monument and the wonderful Loch Sheil there isn't a great deal unless you're into walking or cycling. Plenty of trails in the area and a good base to explore further up towards Mallaig.

Having seen old rail posters of Glenfinnan Viaduct, I tried a 2 mile walk from the Visitor Centre via the Viaduct to the old restaurant carriage. I did it before breakfast, so was the only one out. What fantastic views of the Viaduct and loch. There are numerous waiting signs on the main road. I later found out that due to Harry Potter queues of build up on this path.

Beautiful stop for sightseeing and scenic views.
Beautiful stop for sightseeing and scenic views. The Glenfinnan monument is wonderful and steeped in history. Make sure you climb to the top for spectacular views (even a great view of the viaduct). The viaduct is a must for Harry Potter fans. It is honestly a distant second, though, to the history and scenic beauty of the monument rising over the Loch.

Great spot to spend 2 or 3 days. Car essential.
Great spot to spend 2 or 3 days. Car essential. Don't waste your money on the "Harry Potter" train. The Scot Rail normal service uses the same station and tracks and costs £15 for 2 people one way; the Jacobite train costs nearly £70 for the same journey. All you get extra for your money is a bit of chuff chuffing and some steam. Big disappointment. Prince's House Hotel is brilliant for an evening meal.

Lochs, mountains and blooms everywhere!
Lochs, mountains and blooms everywhere! Glenfinnan in May was a delight. Took a Loch Sheil cruise from near Glenfinnan House( great food) and rode the viaduct made famous by the Harry Potter movies on the Jacobite steam train.
The location is just a dream. Waking up to have a cup of coffee in front of Loch shiel is just amazing. Walking distance from the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Parking in visitors center gets impossible so you can walk there. 10 min max. Also walking distance from Glenfinnan train station where you can have a lovely breakfast and wait for the Harry Potter (the jacobite) train arrival, and also visit the museum in the same station.
The location was perfect. Ideally situated for what we wanted to see and do. We walked to the Glenfinnan Viaduct lookout via the woodland path at Glenfinnan Station. Fantastic!!! We visited the White Sands at Morar. Experienced the Jacobite Train journey from Fort William to Mallaig. Drove to Loch Ness to see if we could spot Nessie!!!
The Armoury was a great base, clean and comfortable, quiet at night - Perfect!
I stayed here for 1 night. It is close to the station. Breakfast is the best! The room was really clean and nice. Also the staff is really kind and nice. A big plus is the water! The hotel takes the water supply from the stream that runs next to the building. It is cleaned with an Ultra Violet system, so it don't taste like chlorine!
We loved that everything you could possibly want in the form of facilities and provisions were there. It is a very homely and rustic lodge. A skip and a hop to the train station where the Jacobite train comes and a wonderful scenic walk to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (Harry Potter fans) and the Bonnie Prince Memorial.
The location is superb, right on the shore of loch shiel and a walk away from Glenfinnan monument and the famous viaduct. Spacious and comfortable on the inside. Loved the bed. Loved the shower (although only enough hot water for one shower so best to take advantage of the size and shower together!)
Jac & Jason are the perfect hosts. The place was cosy & warm, bed very comfortable, shower hot & the whole room was so clean & tidy. They were so welcoming, even though i was a last minute booking. Great spot to access the Glenfinnan Viaduct walk. Loved it! I am coming back!
A lovely cozy cabin on a beautiful location by the lake. We stayed for 3 nights, it's perfect for a couple of days. Very central location to explore the area, and just a few minutes walk to the Glenfinnan Train Bridge.
Great place to stay, the hotel offered every you need from comfy beds to excellent food and the shower and bath facilities were great! Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Glenfinnan.
Very clean very comfortable.
Location great and we felt soothed by the tranquility of the spot and also had a lovely meal at the local hotel 2 mins away
I thoroughly enjoyed and hope to go back
Fantastic location very close to Glenfinnan Viaduct. Small family owned hotel with exceptional service. Food was amazing. Great value. Would unequivocally recommend.
