Location is beautiful. We spent our honeymoon in this Hotel 50 years ago and although changes have occurred it more than lived up to our expectations - however a problem with our car and an emergency repair meant we missed our 4.00 ferry and had to take the 8.00 one, we informed the Hotel so were shocked on arrival at 11.30pm to find no one on reception and when we phoned the call went to reception! Another guest found our key with a note for the night porter, who was meant to have the mobile with him! We phoned 0 from our room to say we got our key - no apology and he seemed unconcerned.

The most stunning views. We were very lucky with the weather so spent lots of time in the outdoor seating listening to the stream and birdsong. Room itself spacious and comfortable. The gather is a beautiful space and food good. Might go for lodge with a hot tub next time!

Entrance to grounds is through a Gatehouse,we couldn't see any signage to indicate direction to hotel on our visit. Hotel itself is very elegant with lovely interiors with period furniture and ornate ceilings. Extensive garden grounds with lake and golf course. Rooms huge . Whole hotel was very well decorated as far as I could see.

Gatehouse of Fleet is my favourite holiday break.
Gatehouse of Fleet is my favourite holiday break. Galloway lodge serves fantastic coffee and food. Gatehouse has scenic and relaxing walks. Cream of Galloway is a must to visit for walks, activities and delicious ice cream. Friendly town with lovely shops - Bluebell Interior Designs and Apothecally are great for ideas.

Comfortable and welcoming cottage with everything we needed.
Comfortable and welcoming cottage with everything we needed. We loved the space, and the decor which included a lit Christmas Tree, and the kitchen was well-appointed and had a dishwasher too. The welcome pack had delicious cookies along with excellent tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and milk. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable...everything was spotless. We had easy walking access to local shops and delicious food choices. Our hostess was helpful and available...she provided a well-written book to answer our questions.
We highly recommend this cottage and would welcome a return someday!

The property was exactly as shown in photos and described.
The property was exactly as shown in photos and described. It was lovely and clean. All kitchen items were M&S and the decor was gorgeous. Everything you could want was there and the layout was excellent for spending time with family and friends. We could all really relax and there was plenty of places to walk from the house and it’s only a few minutes drive to the A75 making it an excellent location. A great place to go is to the red deer park, take carrots and apples to feed the deers. Castle Douglas has lots of lovely shops and kipford has a lovely walk too. If you stay indoors they Great technology including smart Tv and nest heating controls and a lovely hot tub. The property is lovely and warm and has a wood burner too. Kitchen fully kitted out including dishwasher, washing machine and a lovely big cooker and oven. Definitely recommend and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat. The hosts were also communicative before arriving and very helpful. Lovely charming gem of a place.

The location on a hill meant we had a good view of the sea. The cabins are Individual so there was no noise from people running up and down hallways like you get in a hotel. The cabins also have there own boiler so you could regulate the temperature. The cabin was a lovely size, very comfortable, the bathroom was big with a large shower. The bed was very comfortable too. Plenty of tea and coffee etc and a pint of milk in the fridge. The decor is unique in each cabin, ours was The Burrow.
Keys were in an obvious place, and owner directed us to property. Profile of this property doesn't do it justice in images. Amazing unspoiled views for the cottage out across the hills. Quiet and tranquil and outstanding super fast wifi. Spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. Walks straight from property out onto open fields and only 10 mins walk down hill to Gatehouse of Fleet. 10/10 on all fronts
The superior room was huge and exceptionally clean. It has lots of light with large bay windows. The bathroom was excellent. It has a very big walk in power shower and a beautiful modern bath. It looked brand new. Super king bed and large wall mounted tv. It is a very short walk to the Main Street of Gatehouse of Fleet. Lovely breakfast both mornings of our stay.
Everything: the cottage is simply wonderful, furnished with everything, ideally clean beyond expectations, located on the hills just above Gatehouse of Fleet (2 min drive, 5 min walk) with an open view on the sea coast. Peace, nature and a true feeling of being in Scotland! Special thanks to the house owners for their generous and kind reception..
This was the third time we have stayed at the beautiful Cally Palace Hotel and it was as brilliant as ever. The room was very large, well equipped and immaculate with comfortable beds etc. The staff are very friendly, polite and professional and the food is superb. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. We will be back!!!
Lovely rooms , very comfortable. Bathroom was lovely too. Food at the restaurant was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Really enjoyed sitting in the beer garden listening to the sound of the river. Never been to Gatehouse of Fleet but would definitely say I’d come back in a heartbeat.
This hotel is stunning! The lodge was very comfortable, with a nice terrace offering a beautiful view on the sea. The restaurant (and bar) are very well designed (as well as the terrace) and tastefully decorated. And the staff is very friendly. We loved to stay there!
Gatehouse of Fleet is a beautiful quiet location, and the Ship Inn was a wonderful place to stay. Our room was spacious, modern and clean - as were the public areas of the hotel. Breakfast was tasty and there is plenty of on road parking outside the hotel. Loved it.
The front enterance was just amazing! Staff were fabulous and extremely helpful and polite. The grand sitting rooms were beautiful, and we noticed even though the heating wasn't on, the hotel was not cold at all, infact it was quite warm and inviting.
The cooked breakfast was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location suited us for where we were as we were attending a wedding in GG's Yard. The place was near a few other food spots. The room was nice.
What a lovely hotel in a wonderful location. The view from the room over the river was idyllic. Gatehouse is a lovely little town so worth a visit. Food at hotel was great too. Clean and modern despite traditional exterior.
The minute I booked in the staff made you feel welcome. The room was clean, comfortable and certainly met my expectations. I also had dinner in the hotel and the food was excellent with a good selection of options.
This was the best hotel we stayed at our whole vacation! Beautiful rooms with unique decor and lots of details that made our stay comfortable. Excellent staff, lovely meals, walkable location.
