Vincy and Andrew the duty manager were really professional, Vincy even offered to help me and my daughter pack our stuff after Andrew authorised over the phone to give me the full refund so I could leave.
Didn't stay in the hotel so can't comment on anything else.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, not by any standard. Well not in my experience anyway.
This independent family-owned hotel provides a peaceful location just outside Chester's historic center, yet only a 10-minute walk away from the city center’s amenities and attractions.

Excellent facilities, iron, hairdryer, kettle - coffee & tea, A FRIDGE(!) and TV. All you would need for a stay. The bed was comfortable. The staff were all great and we stayed for breakfast which was excellent value for money. The best stay we have had in the 5 hotels we've tried in Chester, we will definitely go back.
Staff were very amenable and it was an easy hotel to access.

Current renovation work meant we swapped rooms as initially all we had was scaffolding at the window.
Breakfast was just adequate but definitely not great value.

Ask the reception for a quiet room, mine was overlooking the M56, luckily I had some earplugs with me so that filtered out the noise.
Its ok but would rate the hotel as being on the same level as a Premier Inn, it used to be a more higher rating than a Premier Inn but standards are not what they used to be.
Food was ok but don't expect 4* restaurant class food.
I cannot comment on the other facilities as was only there for one night

Garden City is an awful place.
Garden City is an awful place. Luckily, this hotel isn’t really in Garden City but conveniently placed just off the A55. The nearest village is Hawarden, which is lovely - pubs, farm shop, Gladstone Library. But really this hotel is a base to explore Chester (15 mins drive) or the North Wales coast.

On arrival staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful.
On arrival staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were extremely busy but the rooms were quiet.
The room was of a good size and well equipped with hairdryer and ironing board etc.
I found the mattress hard but this may just be personal preference.
The bath was very slippery without a mat or rough surface for showering. This should be rectified as it could be dangerous.
Tea and coffee were provided but these were very basic. It would have been nice to have had more of a choice.
We were visiting family in Hawarden but also had a trip to the Blue Planet Aquarium and Cheshire Oaks planned. The hotel is
Overall I felt it offered good value for money.

Convenient hotel and friendly staff. Nice set up.
Convenient hotel and friendly staff. Nice set up. However the accommodation was of a very poor standard. Handy place to stay in terms of location. But I wouldn’t recommend if you have very high standards of cleanliness.
I was in the far wing and the room looked to be an older version within the building. It was a very long walk with my bags down long corridors.
The hotel it’s self was lovely. Breakfast was good and the staff all very friendly and polite / helpful. I briefly used the gym and had a swim. It was a small pool but facilities good.
Overall I had I lovely stay.
The room was amazing and very comfortable. Much bigger than we were expecting with two double beds in the twin. Clean and tidy with good facilities, a clean bathroom and two sinks.
Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff. Excellent spa facilities and all included in the price.
I chose this hotel for both its location and also because I have stayed in numerous Village Hotels over the years. Location and facilities in terms of swimming pool, gym and restaurant etc are all good and I have stayed here before and also met clients due to location etc,
Hotel guests take second place, gym full of old local people, restaurant is really expensive and always full of football enjoyers, can't really say it's guest focused. No food after 9.30 pm. Overall, room was ok. Just don't expect too much
The only positive was that the bed was comfortable and although the room was tired, it was clean, although nobody cleaned during my stay. Blaming COVID is not really the answer since other hotels have gone back to normal.
Unfortunately the facilities that we paid for were not working which spoiled the occasion for us as we look forward to having our Spa breaks and always make full use of the facilities.
Nice hotel with lots of good facilities, swimming with the kids was great, very big room for family too. Good bar area. The pros outweigh the cons overall for an overnight stay.
