Warkworth House Hotel, hotel in Felton

In the heart of the village of Warkworth, this 18th-century coaching inn offers 3-star hotel accommodation less than a mile from the Northumberland coast.

Pre-booking was straightforward and communication response was efficient and courteous. Very warm welcome on our arrival; staff friendly, accommodating our special requests and everyone, without exception, made us feel most welcome and comfortable. Personal attention at dinner on our first evening was very much appreciated. Our request for an early breakfast was met, including cook-to-order breakfast. Special mention to the waitresses in the dining room whose service, politeness and personal attention all extremely impressive. The decor of our room was fitting with the character of the hotel, and of high standards, with plump, luxurious towels and toiletries. Couldn't fault anything.

location couldn't been better ,you need a car to get about to get the most out of your break, ie Holy Island, Scotland, there is great walks and the beech is a short walk away.We as a family could have done with another week, to explore the surrounding sites castles, lot of the places are dog friendly, which is another bonus.

We were originally told we couldn't book a party of 6 girls ,when we explained that we were just wanting a relaxed little break away & that we wouldn't cause any problems we were giving the go ahead ,we had waited over 15 months due to other cancellation with covid so we were very happy we had the chance to go ,we had afternoon tea at the running fox 5 minutes up the road .

The cottage is a drive away from Felton and you have to get in the car for almost anything you want except (bizarrely) a post box. We had a drink in the golf club; the menu looked fine, though we didn't eat there. Worth booking tables at popular local pubs etc - we were unlucky at the Northumberland Arms in Felton itself, but so pleased to eat at the restaurant attached to the famous smokery in Craster: highly recommended. Very well placed just off the A1 for exploring fabulous Northumberland.
