although I was only there for a short time I enjoyed my stay. the town was close to my hotel and it was clean and tidy. there is plenty to do if you have children. I had a meal at the local chip shop which I believe was called geo on the main high ST. very good food and service. I visited some shops and the staff in the shops where in good spirits and helped the customers.

We just wanted a couple of quiet nights away,
For a family with young children who are on a budget it’s a good way to get away for a few days. Weather plays a big part but the beach isn’t bad, the pier and amusements can easily kill a rainy afternoon plenty of places to eat and drink Fairly cheap and basic seaside town but it’ll keep the kids happy

I think Clacton-on-Sea is a lovely town.
I think Clacton-on-Sea is a lovely town. The garden walk at the seafront is beautiful any time of the year; there are plenty of seats. There are loads of reasonable restaurants in Clacton and lots of activities for children. There is a very good Wetherspoon pub near the seafront. A good range of shops.

Clacton not too bad.
Clacton not too bad. But Jaywick where the caravan was is terrible, down and out people everywhere and run down properties. Fly tipping on the road to site.
We had two nights but only stayed one night as couldn’t wait to get home
What a lovely venue. I travelled with my 10 and 12 year old and we absolutely loved Viva Guest House. They were so welcoming, knew my name straight away and learned the kids really quickly. Lovely room with a double and single bed, gorgeous garden where we had our choice of breakfasts. We've stayed in a well known, mid range hotel before and my kids definitely felt Viva was much better. We'll definitely stay again when we visit Clacton.
Fantastic area, short walk to lovely beach, was just looking for a hotel room too and it just popped up, much better than a hotel but hadn't considered an apartment as thought it would be more expensive ( it wasn't, it was cheaper) Very clean lovely decor and everything to a very high standard, in fact it was brilliant, and if it just had the few things sorted out below I would give it 6 stars.
Very clean and comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast that caters also for vegans.
Karen and Kevin very very friendly and helpful hosts, we were able to check in early and left the luggage there after check out which was very helpful.
I would most definately recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Clacton-on-sea.
Once again thank you!
The hotel is in a great location, close to family, Clacton and local shops and places to eat. The rooms are always lovely a clean, warm, spacious & have everything you need for your stay. The staff are always very friendly and all round the hotel is great value for money.
Room was large and spacious, bed comfortable and clean. Only problem was the shower too small .Breakfast was brilliant and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The area was ok we found a restaurant nearby but on the whole found Clacton-On-Sea a bit tacky.
Fresh fruit, cereals, milk tea and coffee bread and jams all supplied in the room and topped up each day pleasant owners who are prepared to supply any local information required clean tidy and ample room and only 5 mins walk from seafront
I like the location, the staff were very kind and helpful. The facilities were spotless. Felt more like a hotel than a guest house a lot of care and attention goes into the running of this establishment. Really first class experience.
Quiet and away from central Clacton but could walk in. Just over the road from the prom and the sea. Staff friendly, hotel refurbished, good quality food. Good base for travelling to view other places.
A work in progress. This hotel can potentially be a top hotel in Clacton if run properly. Location excellent, staff excellent. Restaurant and bar is good. Breakfast not bad, needs a little improving.
Better contact the hotel directly. I paid 157 Pound for one night, the worker said the booking is inflating the prices, if you book directly with hotel it is much cheaper and you get breakfast.
The chap on check in was fabulous, helpful and understanding, a great man, lovely room, warm and wifi great, excellent location, virtually on sea front, no complaints
