Tremains Guest House, hotel in Bridgend

A 12-minute walk from Bridgend Train Station, Tremains Guest House offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast, around 30 minutes west of Cardiff. It has ample free parking and free Wi-Fi.

Breakfast was excellent (although starting at 6:30am on a Sunday seemed a bit extreme!). Access to the premises was good - a front door key as well as a room key. I booked a small single room, and that's what I got, but for one night it was fine.

Lovely little town with a good range of shops and cafes. Ideally located just a short 20ish minutes from Cardiff central by train and direct trains to Cardiff Airport. People were very friendly, had a lovely evening at the Railway Pub near the station, friendly staff and customers

I only use Bridgend as a stopover as I could not find reasonably priced room in Cardiff that was in a safe area for a woman travelling alone. There was a big football match and concert on in Cardiff that Tuesday night and that is why I booked further afield as there was very little choice in my price range available.

Old Manor House with an old-fashioned touch, a bit out of times but comfortable, clean and with refurbished bath rooms. We we arrived there was a school graduation party we had not been made aware of. Fortunately it finished at 10 pm, so did not bother us in the end. Very good Indian restaurant. Very good breakfast.

Great staff as in Rhonda, Danielle, Shawn and the other bouncer. 2 drunk girls, who were druggy absolute idiots that started fights that were both really anti English to myself and matty.. one was just legally able girl who attacked Danielle the bar lady xxand one lesbian who attacked rona and myself. Both girls had to leave. The staff got them cabs home

I can only comment on Days Inn (where we stayed) as we were visiting family and didn't spend any time in Bridgend. The location was quiet, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. The bed was very good quality and we had a good night's sleep. The only downside was that there was nowhere nearby to have breakfast.

Great location, as wanted a getaway place. Intended to explore Bridgend and Porthcawl, so it was very convenient to get there from the hotel. There was an excellent restaurant, El Prado nearby, that was easy to get to. Staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was really warm, and the box of tissues was helpful as I had a bit of a cold! The room was quiet, and you could practically park outside.

There is so much to see in the hotel itself. A fantastic building with architectural oddities all over the place. Staff were tremendous and the rooms were very well presented with a nice mix of traditional and modern decor. I'd imagine the garden would be lovely on a sunny evening (which we didnt get..) Breakfast was good and the staff serving it was happy to deal with any requests.

Lovely little cottage near Bridgend. The property is wonderfully finished to a really good specification. Had a warm, cosy feel about the property with internal stonework, log fire and ceiling beams. We booked for Easter weekend and arrived to Easter cakes which was a nice touch by the host. We would 100% recommend the property, and will certainly be returning in the future.

Everything! The attention to detail is incredible! In a quiet lovely location, but only a mile away from the town centre. The hosts were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us . We opted for the continental breakfast, which was very reasonably priced with a good selection of food. I thoroughly recommend Hazelwood House, you won’t be disappointed!

I am working in Bridgend, stayed for the week, the room was lovely, very clean, comfortable night. This is more hotel than guest house. Howard and the team made me feel very welcome, the breakfast was delicious- there is a menu for cooked breakfast - absolutely wonderful, I definitely recommend and will return again and again!!

Really enjoyed my stay at the cottage. Would be ideal for a family stay. St Brides is a lovely village with easy access to the stunning local coast line and the larger local town (Bridgend). The cottage has been tastefully refurbished, has a great bean-to-cup coffee machine and a well equipped kitchen. Highly-recommended.

The guest house was lovely for our short stay. There were nice touches in the spacious room like a fridge & microwave, tea & coffee making facilities which was great. Tony was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be staying again when we are back in Wales.

The property is an old stone terraced cottage but has been sympathetically extended with a high standard of fittings and decor, the location was very close to the town centre but in a quiet street. Excellent breakfast cooked to order by the host!
