Good clean hotel, convenient for those with a car, at an excellent price. It's out of town but right off main road, a 20 min walk to Dalmuir station and a £22 taxi back on Sat night from middle of Glasgow if not driving. Small but well equipped business-hotel style room. All in, very good.

West Highland Way Hotel, hotel in Blanefield

Located just outside Glasgow, West Highland Way Hotel and Campground is a 5-star rated property located on the West Highland Way, a short drive away from Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

I loved the location for this. The view around the hotel did not disappoint and it was a short walk from The West Highland Way. It did not take too long by car to get to Ben Lomond for a good day of walking either. Audrey was around to answer any questions I had and there was a homely feel to the stay especially with the resident pets. You could help yourself to toast, cereal and drinks at breakfast, though the choice was quite limited. I booked the smaller room as I was travelling alone and found it quite cosy. The only thing I felt could have been better was the mattress, it was quite bumpy and I found it slightly uncomfortable. However, I did enjoy my stay and would recommend this hotel to others and would definitely return in the future.

West Highland Way Rooms ED30002F, hotel in Blanefield

West Highland Way Rooms ED30002F enjoys a location in Milngavie, 7.2 miles from Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and 7.4 miles from Scottish Event Campus Glasgow.

The owner, the room, the kitchen, attention to details, WiFi, location (!!!), and access to washing machine. Just a few steps to West Highland Way portal, great restaurants, cafes, shops and grocery story very close by. Most of all, Gerry the owner, was incredibly helpful and kind. I felt blessed to stay here.

Calming and scenic, transport needed to amenities. Lots of pleasant walks and stunning scenery. Central location to many attractions, the Devils pulpit is stunning and a must see, approximately 2 miles from Blanefield. I would recommend going early, much quieter and more tranquil.

Liked that I could sit in the lounge area with a cuppa as I was camping. So cosy, felt right at home. My camping stove broke so they let me fill my flask with hot water so I could have a cuppa in my tent. Booked for two nights but stayed four nights, and I could put my tent anywhere so I chose a secluded spot in the woodland, was bliss even with the rain.

The hotel looked lovely being small and full of character.

The hotel looked lovely being small and full of character. Nice retreat and the staff are so helpful. The area is lovely and peaceful. This is no campsite though and tents added to create extra revenue. In conclusion is it a hotel or campsite!!! As one effects the other. Beautiful setting in a beautiful area.

Beautiful location, lovely house and very comfortable family room. Extremely dog friendly (owners dogs were frequently present and very friendly too). Dinner adequate but expensive for what it was and breakfast was fine but no cereals on offer; fruit, pastries and yoghurts available though. Didn’t expect to pay for hot drinks which would normally be provided in the room. We felt this was disappointing and surely could have been included in the price. Take a flask of tea with you!
