The hostess was very welcoming and was amenable to an early breakfast. The property’s garden backs on to a path alongside the town’s lake. The property was very well located for the cycling event I took part in.

The apartment was exceptionally clean and very tastefully furnished. The welcome cocktail was a wonderful surprise, and the breakfast basket was lovely. Views of the lake were fabulous, both from the garden and the apartment. To top it all, the bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great night's sleep.

Was a late booking made on the hoof for an overnight stay while driving from the Alps to Calais and the host was very accommodating. The house was easy to find.
Entry instructions were excellent.

Out of season so I was so was the only diner but still the very attentive staff provided meals at a time to suit me within their schedule. Room was a very good standard. shower excellent. Easy Parking right outside the hotel. Great breakfast. Great place for a stop before or after a channel crossing. In season, I imagine this is a busy place with a caravan site and fun park opposite.

Great location for travellers using Eurotunnel as far enough into France to avoid built up areas (Calais/Dunkirk).
Rural location and short walking distance to small local bar.
Stayed at this hotel many times before and intend to do so in future - our first choice of hotel when beginning or ending a french road trip.

No restaurants in town, however very good restaurant as you drive in the direction of Calais, drive a few kilometres in the direction of Calais and you will see a restaurant on right hand side of road, very good, good price around €60 for two people dining. Tournhem has no real redeeming features in my view, but convenient as a stop over from Calais.
We wanted an hotel just off the motorway on way back to Calais for the night before. We arrived before the Reception was open (we were notified it opened at 4 pm) but sat in the garden. There is also a caravan and campsite. Very nice, prompt welcome, small but good room. There is a rear patio area and small front patio. Had a couple of beers on the front patio then ate in the restaurant as nowhere really within walking distance. It’s a small village. Food was OK. We did not have the breakfast. It is a very pleasant spot and atmosphere.
The hotel rooms and adjoining bathrooms are fairly basic but were spotlessly clean and absolutely fine for an overnight stop, within 30 minutes drive of the Eurotunnell, close to the A26 on the outskirts of a village. Easy to find.
The young chap who welcomed us and later served dinner, was terrific, very helpful and friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. Ample and free parking. Free Wifi. Bar and pool table (not used.)
We were traveling in a large van to move our furniture, so long distance from Austria to UK. We needed a simple place to sleep, so went with an economical option. Hotel Bal, was fine, no frills, but fine. Bed was comfy and well made, room very clean. Breakfast in the morning was simple, but again, fine. So, this is a good option if you want a reliable good bed.
We stayed in this hotel on our way to France and on the way back. Both experiences were very good, all clean and in good order. It's in a very quiet village. the owners were very accommodative for a late checkin but everything in the village was closed. We'd stop again there any time we go to France.
Another repeat visit to a family run hotel. Helpful and happy staff. Superb restaurant food and service although menu choices reduced since our last visit I believe. Breakfast choices good. Great location for short stay on arrival to France or before return to UK.
My expectations were low, considering this was a hotel/restaurant at a campground, but I was surprised and delighted to find a very clean and modern facility, a sparklingly bright and modern room with independent heat, and a lovely restaurant.
Great stop off point, near Calais, for road trip. Staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurant has good food at a sensible price. The hotel is clean and the bed was comfortable. We have used many times at the beginning and end of our holidays.
Used this hotel before taking Eurotunnel on the morning, less than 30mins away. You can book in easily and rooms have a shower. Breakfast is buffet style with sweet and savoury.
Quiet hotel, in the country, very close to Calais, perfect for a stop before or after the crossing. The dinner served at the hotel's restaurant is pretty good. Hepful staff.
Excellent restaurant good menu choice and wine list excellent. Parking fine. Room small and a little stuffy but very hot that day. One bar in walking distance from hotel.
