This is a third time in Mesnil - Saint-Pere, but our 1st time at this hotel & probably our last there are better available.
We stay here on our way back from the Italian Alps usually at the end of March or early April, just as spring is starting. The lake is quite stunning and on a sunny warm spring day it really is a great place to be despite the fact that most things are closed. There is a good brasseries called the belvedere which is great , good food and great view over the lake.

We were travelling from Ardeche to Calais and needed a stopover place - Troyes was on route, but stumbled on this little gem just a few miles outside of Troyes. We stayed for one night but enjoyed an evening meal by the lake. It was at a Pizzeria overlooking the lake - the food tasted great but the pizza crust was not the usual colour one would expect... kind of grey? i didn't ask the reason, its likely a special recipe that is to be admired but it did put the kids off a bit - the prices were higher than i would normally go for but there wasn't time to look around. There was lots to do that could have entertained the children and adults for a few days, paddle boarding, inflatable water course, pedalos and that was just a fraction of what we saw on the brief time we visited. I will return and make a longer stay of if if we are travelling that way again. It was 3.5 hours to Calais to get the Eurotunnel.

Great location for a stopover on the way South.
Great location for a stopover on the way South. Well equipped house and friendly owners. Near to Troyes, which is a lovely place to visit. We swam in the lake opposite the gites which was warm. Generous tray of cakes left for us, which the kids enjoyed!
Would recommend.

The hotel is situated around 800m from the lake in the "centre" of the village. The rooms were very clean and the air con worked well (crucial this summer). I particularly appreciated the availability of dressing gowns and the welcome sweets. We ate in the brasserie over the road which belongs in one or another way to the hotel and we were served very quickly (see negative experiences in the comments). The food was correct.
The room was lovely and clean and had good lighting and a comfy bed. We enjoyed the complimentary drinks and macaroons that were in the room too. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere from the moment you pull into the car park. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Especially William on the front desk. We had our evening meal in the restaurant too which was great. The food was delicious and the staff were very welcoming.
It is very quiet and peaceful in a pretty location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious and served outdoors on a very nice terrace. An excellent wine list and a good menu. It was very quiet at night and we could have the window open without being disturbed. We walked around the village after dinner and found it attractive, with a beautiful old church very close to the hotel.
The place was a little gem the staff was kind and professional the facilities were spotless and outstanding
Great swimming pool and jacuzzi
The hotel offers great food and service
Will gladly return and stay a bit longer
Many thanks for the experience
Superb hotel, I really loved the style of the hotel made by several bungalows. Nice position, very quite place and all the rooms have their own outdoor table. Just 10 minutes walk from the beach. Very good facilitie. Big modern shower in the room.
Very friendly hotel with good facilities in the room. definite choice for a stopover driving from UK through France. nice walk along the lake path and although the restaurant was closed the bistro served a lovely meal.
Don’t know! Contrary to confirmation we could bring a dog, refused access and with help of the Hotel, had to find another hotel in the village. Not appreciated after a 5 hour gruelling drive from Switzerland!
Excellent dinner at the Brasserie. Slight initial delay in service, but once in gear the waitress service was exemplary.
Breakfast was very good and far better value than our previous hotel stopover
outstanding location, excellent staff and keen to please. fantastic restaurant, excellent food. attractive, spacious and amazing facilities. we will be back again! well done Hotel Lac d’Orient
Breakfast ok.
Some stuff were grumpy and not interested.
