The location suited us as a stopover en route from Bordeaux to St Malo. In terms of the immediate area it is near the village of Vouvant - very pretty, several restaurants, a small supermarket etc - basically everything you need. The chateau - or more accurately, the gatehouse to the old chateau, is a historic building which has been updated but without diminishing the aesthetics of the building , The setting is delightful, especially the gardens and the pool area.

Very quiet location. Very large garden to enjoy. Breakfast with fresh eggs was tempting, but unfortunately we had eaten too much the night before so couldn't attempt it. Owner very friendly and helpful.
