The room was comfortable and quiet and well located on the Via Francigena. We stayed on a Sunday night when the restaurant was closed and the manageress phoned us during the day to ask if we would like her to book a table for us at the restaurant in town. Very friendly and helpful.

We were two tired and hungry pilgrims on the Via Francigena who arrived without food due to another French public holiday in May and a lack of shops in the area. We also had difficulty finding accommodation and Bouconville-Vauclair is not on the designated route. The hostess, Magali, was simply outstanding. She offered to prepare us an evening meal – which was magnificent, and this was followed with a superb breakfast the next morning. The accommodation can more correctly described as a newly constructed self-contained unit with all amenities you require. Magali turned our brief stay into one of the highlights of our entire walk. This is the 3rd time I have stayed in the hotel. We were given a very spacious room on the top floor which was perfect as we were travelling with our 2 dogs. I have always enjoyed staying here as it is very centrally located, the owner is very personable and helpful.
