Bed was firm and very comfortable. A very clean hotel, with friendly and efficient staff. English speaking younger lady was excellent. She had a great knowledge of the area and was really helpful. Her French was very good as well.

The location was great to explore the Chablis wine area. Loved the inner patio to enjoy a glass of wine and/or champagne and the restaurant really offers an exquisite wine list. Free parking was a clear plus – but quickly occupied (for abt. 12-14 cars) and then required good skills to get out in reverse direction.

Set in a planted park, L'Ecrin du Serein dates from 1872 and is located in Sainte Vertu, in the heart of the Burgundy region.

Incredible building, very special. . Spacious room that might be described as a "PERIOD REPLICA". or most likely is ORIGINAL. . LUXURY plus bathroom. . Wonderful welcome by the host. Very helpful in finding a late booking for a restaurant . The further negative comments did not detract from what we liked.

The host, Christophe, welcomed us warmly, a very pleasant conversationalist, helpful in everything, polite, built a special place, with a lot of investment, beliefs, pictures, statues, cute cats, very talented, we sat and talked over a glass of wine, helped me fix a problem with the car. Travelling with two families i.e. four parents and four small children (ages 3 - 7). The house, its terrace and the garden were excellent for this group: children climbing trees / using the swing set, parents relaxing and bbbq-ing at the terrace. No traffic passing, safe for the children to play. The house has multiple bed rooms, renovated at very high standards, three bathrooms and all other facilities needed. Chablis is really close, Beaune is about an hour of a drive. Very friendly host. All in all: highly recommended if you wish to stay in the area.
