Jean - Paul, my husband is particularly interested in the events of 6th June, 1944 so the visit to Bernieres - sur -Mer was very interesting, informative and thought provoking, steeped in historical events which were well documented in public areas. In September we found this to be a Very quiet resort. A decent supermarket supplies all your needs but there seems to be just two restaurants. The one we tried was good value and I would use again. The other seemed a bit expensive. Both seem to have very limited opening hours. An excellent bakers near the church widely used by the locals so it must be good, cakes were great. It does provide an excellent base for visiting the sites and I would recommend Mount st Michel to anyone.guyUnited Kingdom
