The location is super quiet and calm in the Dordogne countryside but less than 5 minutes drive to a well-stocked supermarket, boulangetie etc. Lovely for country walks and close to river for canoeing.
The swimming pool was not something we were looking for, but after arriving during the unexpected heatwave of mid-June, it was fantastic to cool off from the 35° afternoon heat!
Alain is very helpful, but relaxed and unobtrusive.

Lovely hotel run by a delightful couple, Michelle and Ann-e. They could not do enough for us and made our stay very special. The hotel has a echo of the Far East as the owners have constructed a Chinese garden which is wonderful to wander around.

The staff at this charming hotel were incredibly welcoming, and the location is stunning! From the moment you arrive, you are immersed in a sense of relaxation and beauty. Our room was situated not in the main building (the castle) but in a lovely annex. It was quiet at night, which is very important to me. The room was spacious and cozy, with tea, coffee, and water available for free. We dined at the restaurant inside the Domaine; the food was good, though in my humble opinion, not exceptional. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. The beautiful breakfast room, located inside the castle, offered a great variety of choices. The garden and the view are stunning, with swimming pools located in various spots. Having visited many hotels in Dordogne during my stay, Château de Monrecour was definitely my favorite. I hope to have the chance to go back soon.

Lovely little hotel. The lady on reception/restaurant was delightful and we had a lovely chat with her. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was exceptional, we'd definitely return. The room was very nice with a lovely terrace and a large bathroom. The beds were really comfy (not too hard like many hotels). Located in the centre of Saint Cyprien so easy to walk everywhere. Highly recommend.
