This makes that you can just enjoy the lovely furnishings from the very start. The host was very helpful as well, welcoming is to the house and explaining how everything worked. The spa was wonderful!

Hostellerie Saint Martin- Logis Hôtel et Restaurant, hotel in Audrieu

This hotel is located less than 5 minutes on foot from Château de Creully. It offers en suite rooms, a restaurant and free on-site parking. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

As always the place was welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. It's a bit difficult at the moment as the village square is completely impassable due to roadworks but despite this the welcome was as I would have expected (I've stayed there before). The rooms were clean and tidy everything was as it should be. We had dinner in the restaurant, and again, the meals were good value with a great choice of courses and drinks. One of my favourite places to stop in Normandy. Out of the main rush of the coastal route but close enough to all the places you might want to visit.

Le Domaine de l'Hostellerie, hotel in Audrieu

Featuring massage services and views of garden, Le Domaine de l'Hostellerie is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Le Fresne-Camilly, 11 km from Memorial of Caen.

Its location in a tiny and typical village far from the madding crowd makes for a very quiet stay, and it is but a few minutes drive to a restaurant (or an ATM, because the owner prefers cash). It is also possible to eat something on site, but the menu is limited. Breakfast is truly superb though. Very spacious, neat, cosy and tastefully decorated rooms, a large, tranquil - and equally tasteful - garden, an extremely enthusiastic host who talks at the rapid-fire speed we all know from the French movies, and his superbly lovely and friendly wife (who speaks at normal speed) will guarantee you’ll regret you did not book for a few days extra. Recommended +++!

L'Hôme du Monde, hotel in Audrieu

L’Hôme du Monde offers B&B accommodation in the centre of Bretteville-l’Orgueilleuse, a 15-minute drive from Caen and 30 minutes’ away from the D-day Landing Beaches.

When we first came in, it was all a bit strange, but we quickly grew very fond of the rather strange interior. The host had some great stories to tell about all the individual art and pieces from all over Asia. The room itself had an Asian theme going on which was both a bit crazy but also great fun. Location was very nicely situated between Caen, Bayeux, Gold and Sword beaches. Great big shower!

Everything was great about this chateau - the welcome from Lauriane (who managed to find some lunch for us although we arrived late !), the room itself, the extra presents in our room, the restaurant, the service and although I left some clothes behind us when we left they managed to post them to our home within a week. We would go back there in a heartbeat !!!

Depends what you want from a property.

Depends what you want from a property. If you want lively and to be close to a busy community this isn't the property for you. If you want peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of a large town then this property is ideal. We had a car so getting around wasn't a problem and no traffic to worry about.

We visited Chateau d'Audrieu with our family of 10 10, including our grown children and grandchildren. We rented 3 wonderful rooms for one night. When we arrived, and when we left, we wished we had been staying more nights. The entire staff was so friendly, so welcoming, so knowledgeable, and so proud of the Chateau that it made us proud to be staying with them. We enjoyed a light dinner of cheese, seafood, and meat boards and a few bottles of wine. We had an awesome, relaxing time. The breakfast was exceptional.

The grounds, the pool, and the rooms were outstanding. The staff tried hard to accommodate our needs and were very pleasant. Additionally, the attention to detail throughout the hotel was awe-inspiring, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

We did enjoy the hotels location and the stunning grounds but it was evidently let down by a severe shortage of staff
