The location is absolutely gorgeous and the cabins, although tiny, are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our time by the bonfire and watched northern lights from here. They even have snow shoes available to go hike some of the trails around. Beautiful stay which is close to the ski town of Ruka which has plenty of food options. It was nice that the breakfast is included in the morning. Ruka Pizza was amazing gormet pizza we ate.

Bed was great! Room was cool and nice. Sauna was great in the evening. Place was quiet, even though it was rather full. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Parking is just in front of the building.
On average, 3-star hotels in Ruka cost $190 per night, and 4-star hotels in Ruka are $191 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Ruka can be found for $246 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Great place in winter wonderland. While the hill is not particularly high, the ski is great and geared mostly towards beginner and intermediate skiers. Great cross-country skiing as well.
Ruka village is lively and with good selection of bars and restaurants.

Compact and convenient for most things.
Compact and convenient for most things. Skiiers used to Alpine ski resorts will find it small but it has good snow and being amongst trees is lovely. Bear in mind that beginners wanting the easiest slopes should be at the Valley side not the Village side or else you'll need to bus/gondola across.

I was in the summer.... which is still not too warm... so take that in to consideration.
There are TONS of mosquitoes, you wouldn't believe, but still the area is beautiful and the things to is basically kayaking, hiking or just relaxing. you must have a car to get around and it's better to purchase food and cook for yourself where you stay.

Ruka is a great family resort.
Ruka is a great family resort. A winter paradise with cross country skiing and downhill skiing available. There is also a ski school. I recommend staying in Ruka village side rather than Ruka valley side.
Ice slide onto small frozen lake was super popular with my kids as well as watching the ski jumping.
Highly recommend the ski school and Lammintupa for reindeer and husky adventures.

Ruka is a very friendly and family oriented place but my son...
Ruka is a very friendly and family oriented place but my son and his friends enjoyed the night- life at Ruka village too. Skiing is for those who enjoy the more relaxed atmosphere as this place doesn’t have many if any for the more experienced ones. We did not have to queue at the lifts. Nevertheless it is very popular with couples and families alike . There are plenty of places to eat in , or use the take-away services too. We would definitely go back next year. Loved it!

Beautiful place, fantastic food in the restuarants in Ruka...
Beautiful place, fantastic food in the restuarants in Ruka Village. Must try Stefans Steakhouse. Do book with Ruka Adventures for experiences, they are exciting, genuine and very helpful. The Cabin is cosy and warm and an ideal place to relax. Would highly recommend to all.
+ Location is good, about 10-15 min walk to the village of Ruka (the closest ski lift is 5 mins away)
+ Communication with the owner was friendly and smooth
+ Super clean!
+ Beds were very comfortable
+ Has all the amenities you'll need and much more (it's not a typical "bare-bones" rental cabin)
+ The air source heat pump really helps on a hot summer day
+ The sauna is exceptionally good
Wholeheartedly recommended!
Beautiful hotel right by the lake. Great views from the restaurant/breakfast room. Nice fireplace that gives a great ambiance to the room. Electric Sauna was good too. The rooms are equipped with an electrical clothes dryer which is very thoughtful and was already useful in the fall, so I can only imagine how useful it will be in winter! The location is great as well, just a short walk from Ruka village.
The house was modern, new and good size. The kitchen was well equipped- we had everything what we needed. The most, we liked the location - in the middle of the forest - perfect for the skiing holiday and Christmas celebration. The cross country skiing tracks started close to the house; and the Ruka alpine skiing centre was very close as well. Quiet and beautiful place - perfect for winter holiday!
This felt like a luxury cabin. It had everything you need for self-catering (full kitchen, fireplace...) and also a great sauna. The location worked well for us to get to the Oulanka National Park and to Ruka ski resort. Idea to keep the key permanently in the lock box was great so you didn't have to worry about carrying the keys with you. Cute reindeer wondering in the yard was a bonus.
This hotel is so amazing! I would say is perfect, near the ski lift, hotel room is so clean and specious. The staff also is quite nice and friendly!!! Everyday wake up could see the beautiful snow views, and they own separate ski locker, it’s easy to save your rental equipment overnight, very convenient. The breakfast also very tasty! I spent a really lovely holiday there!
The property is close to Ruka Valley (4 min drive), but in the forest with a few neighbours, so very quiet. The house is for up to 10 people. We were just 4 people, so enough space for everyone. It was good equipped with all the kitchen utensils, fridge freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave, cooker and coffee machine. Plenty of cups, plates, pans and pots.
If you are sick of cookie cutter business hotels where you have to pay for everything, this homely hotel offers authentic hospitality that you might expect from a holiday to Lapland. Lovely food fired sauna included. Didn't mind not having a bathroom and shower in the room at all as there was a sink. Recommended for good value for money and some character!
The hotel staff were all fantastic and so friendly and helpful.
The location is also excellent.
We had breakfast each day and the choice and quality were brilliant, we also had dinner two times in the restaurant and again the food and service was excellent. I would happily visit this hotel again.
Excellent situated in the Village with all that you need within walking distance. The shop was in the first floor.
Beautiful conditions with Ski tracks and downhill slopes.
One of the better Ski sites in Europe.
Nice flat with everything you need for your own household.
It is unfair for this type of accommodation to be rated on a Booking.com review. Yes, the room is very small. But the whole experience is far beyond a typical hotel. The scenery, the view from the room, the stars, the northern lights, the tranquility. Just magical..
It was wonderful. Always was perfekt. This ist the best place for holiday, I have never had smth. better than this hut(house). Owners were very frendly and helpful. Thank you for the our best hollidays.
Till Ruka by car it takes us maximum
10minutes.
Location is great! 3 minutes drive from Ruka's center. Kitchen was well equipped, showers were great and so was the fireplace with lots of ready wood in the storage. There's also a smart big screen TV and a big dining table. plenty of space.
Cabin was spotless
Everything we needed was available
Sauna was great
Beds comfy
Good location - less than 10 minute drive to Ruka village and 15 to Ruka Valley.
Instructions were clear.
Drying cabinet was great.
Nice location by the lake, 15min to Ruka east slopes.
The place is cozy. The dryer is convenient for drying gloves and ski clothes.
The kitchen is compact but very well equipped.
Nice, cosy traditional Finnish house. Very close to Ruka Village and also Ski lifts. Clean and spacious with all basic amenities. Parking space in front of the house.
The villa we booked is spacious and cozy. We love everything. The village itself is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We hope we could stay longer.
