We loved the location of the cottage- a snowy retreat in a heart of Puumala. The view from the cottage is stunning. A lake and bbq place is right next to the cottage.

Awesome quiet and beautiful place, at the lake shore.
All kind of facilities available, including morotized boats (for lazy people like me), and awesome authentic sauna :)
Very nice owners, that are more than glad to help with anything one might need, even getting some stuff from the shop if you forget something.

Breathtaking views of lakes and islands, quietness, massive pine forests, excellent roads, a trove for nature lovers and for those who look for quiet comfort and sauna. In spite of lack of electricity, the internet is flawless.
Pia is an exceptional host. A stay at Rantapappila is a real treat. I liked the many bath products, the free sauna, the terrace, the garden view, the chats with the other Finnish guests, and especially the possibilities to enjoy the environment of Puumala. There is so much to do and to experience: Norpapolkku, Nestorinranta, Niinisaari, Saimaa Canoeing, Sahanlahti,…we were glad we had booked for six nights.

- Great location for bike touring (no bike racks anywhere though). The place is along the Puumala Archipelago Route.
- Glorius lake view from the sauna.
- Modern and simple cabins without any useless things like a TV.
- Okayish breakfast but quite pricey
The dinner here was outstanding ! We were here at the end of the summer season so many things were closed but the kids enjoyed the paddleball court and we enjoyed walking around the property and hiking around Puumala.
Beautiful old house, located in the village of Puumala. Everthing is very clean and comfortable.
Self-service breakfast had everything you need and we enjoyed it on the sunny terrace. Perfect.
