Park Alandia Hotel, hotel in Mariehamn

Located in Mariehamn’s center, this Åland hotel offers live music events, free parking and free WiFi. Torggatan shopping street is just around the corner.

Everything was fresh, clean and maintained with care. All the food was delicious, I tried a la carte and a couple breakfasts. We stayed in a suite of two adults and two school aged kids. The hotel has a small beautiful indoor pool with a sauna that we booked privately at a very reasonable price.

Strandnäs Hotell, hotel in Mariehamn

Located a 5-minute drive from Mariehamn city center, Strandnäs Hotell offers traditionally decorated rooms with a TV and private bathroom. The ferry terminal is 2.2 mi away.

We were happy to find a room on a short notice via booking.com. In summer finding a room in Mariehamn can be very hard. That is why our expectations were not that high. Hotel Strandnäs fulfilled the task vey well. The hotel is a bit aside from town center and very basic. Nothing was fancy but everything worked and atmosphere was friendly and cosy.

Hotel Cikada, hotel in Mariehamn

Located next to the Pommern Museum Ship in Mariehamn, this hotel features indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and a garden terrace. A well-equipped gym is available for guests free of charge.

Breakfast was better than expected from the reviews: there was porridge, different bread, cheese, ham, omelette, sausage, yoghurt, cereal, two different juices, milk, coffee, tea - if you don't fancy a brunch it will do its job as something to begin the day with. Our room was quiet and the beds were comfy. Despite showing its age it was well cleaned. Being situated only a few minutes walk from the harbour and the museum, the location served as a convenient base for a Mariehamn adventure.

Hotel Esplanad, hotel in Mariehamn

Hotel Esplanad is 656 feet from Mariehamn’s main street, Torggatan. It offers simple yet comfortable rooms with cable TV and free parking. Mariehamn Harbor and Ferry Terminal is 10 minutes’ walk away....

This is one of those hotels that offer really a great value when you take into account the amount you have payed and what you have received. It couldn't be more centrally located than it is. It is within the walking distance from the ferry terminal and if you want to take local buses it is just a stone's throw away from GE-huset bus stop that is used by all the bus lines on the island. My room had convenient private entrance and it was quite large allowing a good night sleep. Also, the property is reasonably priced in, usually, quite expensive Mariehamn area.

Hotel Adlon, hotel in Mariehamn

Adlon Hotel is located by Mariehamn Harbor, 328 feet from the ferry terminal. It offers free Wi-Fi, free parking and rooms with a seating area and a TV.

Good location close to Marienhamn port, yet quiet neighbourhood. Everything worked (shower, hairdryer) ok and the hotel served its purpose. Room was worn but clean. Breakfast was simple but adequate, all basic courses were there but choises were few.

It is a charming city with kind people.

It is a charming city with kind people. We visited Maxinge shopping center and ate one of the best pizzas in a long time in a Diablo pizzeria, which felt authentically Italian (from one that grew up on Italian) in so many ways. A trip would have been worth it just for it. Many lovely places for charming walks around the city and area.

Aland is a great place full of nature.

Aland is a great place full of nature. Mariehamn is nice, but I mostly enjoyed the nature. My favourite place in Mariehamn was the vista point from Badhusparken. Further, I visited Saltvik, Kastelholm and Eckerö, all reachable by bus from Mariehamn.

There are not too many tourists in Mariehamn.

There are not too many tourists in Mariehamn. In many places, menus and other brochures are only in Swedish, and for tourists it would be good to have the information in English as well. There are many good swimming spots.

The nautical museum and ship Pommern are well worth a visit.

The nautical museum and ship Pommern are well worth a visit. The cultural museum is also interesting. Lots of attractive wooden houses and enjoyed walking in the parks and along the seaside. 1 1/2 days was perfect. Excellent meals at Indigo and Park restaurants where I had local perch and local lamb.

    I visited during weekend.

I visited during weekend. It was surprising that all the shops cafes etc closed on saturday at 4pm and didn't open at all on sunday. So it was really quiet and there were literally no one in the city center. And basically not much to do.

It's a great spot for a weekend getaway.

It's a great spot for a weekend getaway. While there, you must cycle around the marshes, visit the Museum Ship Pommern and dine at Indigo! If you can, take your cycles with you or rent cycles there. Do not rely on public transport, especially during the weekends. The frequency is extremely low.

The location was the best in town. Breakfast was superb with lot of variety with lot of local dishes, such as Åland pancake with cream and plum sauce, Åland apple juice as well as local cheese and ham with fresh bread. In addition to this, there is a large outdoor pool which gives a Mediterranean vibe for the hotel experience. The room was very spacious having also an air conditioning to cool the nights although was very warm outside. We had also a free room upgrade with the sea view for our 7 nights trip.

Best amenities in a 3-star hotel I have ever seen. Outdoor pool, indoor pool with sauna (at guests use in the morning, other times available for private reservations at a small charge), a FULLY equipped gym (one of the best hotel gyms I’ve seen) and a decent breakfast all included in a very reasonable price. Best value you can find in Åland

The place was very cute and customer service was brilliant. We felt very welcome and would have loved to stay longer. I will definetly reccommend this place for others who wish to travel to Mariehamn. The cabin and shared toilet and shower were all clean and nice. Other cabins being very close did not bother us at all.

The food was okay. Everything else was below any reasonable standard. The building stinks and is badly hurt with moisture problems. I cannot understand how the Aland tourist authority and building controllers do not blow the whistle and demand the stop of this accommodation establishment.

The hotel is located at the best possible place for a hotel in Mariehamn. The breakfast was excellent, I already miss it! I was happy that also vegan options and local specialities were available. We enjoyed the two swimming pools and the sauna. The rooms were nice.
