The real joy of Vitoria-Gasteiz is wandering unhurriedly around medieval cobbled streets named after professions once performed there. Stone buildings, an arched gate with a portcullis, and steps climbing gentle hills all add to the atmosphere of life in years gone by.
But that doesn’t mean the Basque Country capital isn’t modern in outlook. In fact, the moving walkway ascending a hill is a stroke of genius. The Europa Conference and Exhibition Centre is a state-of-the-art events venue, and Artium is an innovative collection of Basque Contemporary Art.
Vitoria-Gasteiz also has a fine art museum, near the Basque Parliament building, but the historic charms are the real draw. The old cathedral dates to the 14th century, while the new Cathedral of Mary Immaculate is an impressive neo-Gothic structure. Nearby houses have brightly painted murals which tell a story, best explained on a walking tour.
Porticoed buildings line elegant Plaza de España, and next door is Plaza de la Virgen Blanca with its boxed balconies. Pavement cafes and bars overlook the Monument to Independence, an event commemorated in a Beethoven symphony. A more unusual sight is the museum celebrating the city’s role in playing card production.

In keeping with the great Basque cities on the coast, the old town offered great food/pintxo's but at more affordable prices. The city is beautiful and compact and better for not being on the main tourist trail. I would suggest Vitoria-Gasteiz is ideal for a short stay or as a longer stay base to explore both the coast and Rioja Alavas region.

I was amazed at what a beautiful part of Spain this was. Having never been to this part of the country I was frankly blown away. It is now on my list of places to return to and explore. A really beautiful part of Spain.
The place is very clean and if you did not know you were in Spain it could be easily be mistaken for Austria. Beautiful.

Beautiful old town with atmospheric streets and excellent restaurants. Some good artwork in the Bellas Artes museum. Terrorism museum excellent and worth a lot of time. Avoid Artium _ pretentious crap installations with no explanations other than brief bits of cliched jargon. External murals around the city were well worth seeking out. Cathedral tour was very good. Great tapas bars. Vitoria was a city which exceeded my expectations

We have stayed in many Silken hotels and have become used to their expertise and comfy hotels. This hotel was comfy but they lost points because they did not warn me that I would be paying for all three rooms I booked for our friends. No other Silken hotel has ever done this before. It feels an old fashioned way to do business as it must be common practice for multiple rooms to be booked for friendship group trips.
We stayed in Gobeo Park for 1 night during our trip from Portugal to France. The hotel is located very well for this purpose: close to the motorway. The big advantage of the hotel is the restaurant which is open till 23:00 because many other restaurants around were closed in August. The staff is very helpful: the safety box is our room was broken and the lady from the reception helped us immediately to fix it.
Hotel looks very new, clean, modern and has plenty of space in our room with really big TV. Bed and pillow are very comfortable, parking is free around the hotel building. The hotel is located outside of the town in mostly industry area but within walking distance about 30mins. There is huge shopping mall near by with supermarket. Cleaning lady working there was very nice and helpful.
The location of the hotel is perfect. It's very close to all the important sights in Vitoria-Gasteiz. In addition, the non-human / automated check-in was a novel experience for me. It's quite interesting and it worked. It's good the hotel also has vendo machines inside in case you get hungry, you can buy drinks or other food. Checkout was also very fast and convenient.
Clean, modern aparthotel in a quiet area, walking distance from the centre. Very dog friendly - with a water bowl and snacks for your pet. The bed and pillows were really comfortable and you could not hear the neighbours. Also, the roof terrace was nice to enjoy the hot summer afternoon. Though the pool is really small.
Great location, nice room, comfy bed
Parking arrangement with Indigo Amarika, just opposite the hotel (12€/24h) very comfortable
Great eateries just around (perretxico for pintxos and new classic, literally next door for coffee).
Very good communication with hotel staff per WhatsApp
The location close to downtown is hard to beat. The hotel provides a parking at the premises which was very helpfull.
The hotel, being a NH deliver up to the brand. Is a "correct" hotel, where you know what to expect and do not fail to deliver. The breakfast was very good.
Staff very friendly and very helpful with my requests. Response time with my questions was outstanding.
I do recommend this hotel in Vitoria-Gasteiz, it is in the center of this beautiful city, everything is close by and definitely a place a would consider on my return.
The location is absolutely perfect to visit the city, and the hotel and rooms are simple yet stylish, with a very special feel and decor. The mattress and pillows are super comfy, you can tell that everything - from the bed linen to the toiletries - is top notch.
Staff very friendly, Food at the restaurant was very tasty and room was confortable. A hotel to come back several times
La atención fue muy amable, la comida del restaurant estaba deliciosa y la habitación era confortable, Un hotel para volver
A very decent and well kept hotel, with a pretty good breakfast and essencial but new and functional facilities. All for a very affordable price, in an era where price of accommodations worldwide went completely out of control.
Great Hotel, with a fantastic style and great location near downtown Vitoria-Gasteiz and the cathedrals. Staff was lovely and very helpful. Easy to get to get around by taking the tram a couple blocks away.
We were staying for the Vitoria-gasteiz Ironman and the hotel were very accomodating for our needs. They allowed us to put bikes in our rooms and put on early breakfast on race day too.
The hotel is in a perfect location for visiting Vitoria. The staff were very helpful. We were given a room on the 10th floor so had an amazing view out towards the mountains.
Beautiful area, historic building, extremely friendly staff. They gave us a map and pointed out everything to do and all their favorite restaurants and deals!
