Very nice structure and very well located, right at the entrance to the old city walls. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and cozy. Mine also had a small old window facing the valley, with a very nice view. The room had a table which was good for working. When viewed against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains, Ávila is truly a spectacular sight. Its fully intact walls rise majestically from a hill, and the many semi-circular towers and 9 gates give it added character. Begun in the 11th century, these incredible fortifications are the symbol of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city.
Partly built into the walls are the rather fortress-like cathedral and the Convent of Saint Teresa, erected in honour of the saint whose childhood was spent in a house on the same spot. Her relics are here, making it a popular pilgrimage spot. The city’s biggest festival is also in her honour and includes a colourful parade, fireworks and fights in the bullring.
Teresa entered the Incarnation Convent in Ávila, but found herself at odds with the practices, so founded a new monastery: the Convent of Saint Joseph. Of the city’s other religious structures, the Royal Monastery of Saint Thomas is particularly of note as it contains the tomb of Don Juan, son of King Fernando.
Other Ávila sights include the Torreón de los Guzmanes - a tower attached to the provincial council headquarters – and the Four Columns monument which offers fabulous city views.
The Ávila accommodation on Booking.com includes boutique hotels, traditional guest houses and cheap apartments near the train station.

Impressive walls are surrounding the city and invite for a nice walk.
April seems the right moment to visit it. In summertime it may get very hot. The Sofraga Palacio Hotel is the best option to stay we think.

Avila is quite nice for sightseeing.
Avila is quite nice for sightseeing. My problem is with the food industry. We are vegan and the options for us to eat were poor at best. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The food represented as vegan to us was very poor quality, even at nicer restauraunts.

There is almost 2 miles of beautiful ancient city walls holding many interesting old residential structures accessible by small hilly alleys. As the streets are hilly so tourists need to have some comfortable walking shoes to explore the surrounding.

Avila got its unesco status because of its fortress wall and well deserved too. Wish we could walk on its parapet/battlement all the way round.
We ate all our meals at restaurants inside the wall like a lot of other tourists. If you can find fartons for breakfast, they are incredibly cheap and deliciously fresh.
I wish we were better informed by the tourist information centre (on same site as our hotel) about the Heullas Teresa de Jesus pilgrimage and be given a booklet to be stamped for our visit (as like for camino).

Fantastic city to explore and enjoy the majesty of Spain... great tapas and fun city to walk around- the city walls at nighttime are a sight I will never forget! Dinner at Restaurante El Rincón de Jabugo was a highlight as well. Good spot to day trip to Segovia from as well- very convenient.
The location is perfect - just a few meters from the city center (main attractions) and close to bars and restaurants - perfect spot right there but not in the middle. The parking its perfect - not a place to park anywhere around. The hosts are beyond amazing, they made us feel at home providing good tips and always making sure we were having a great time - Thank you Rober & Susana. The place is perfect for a family or friends with 2 rooms, 1 bath and a good living room. Best spot in Avila.
Beautiful boutique hotel inside and outside. The room we had was very comfortable, clean and with everything we needed. Location in Avila and bordering the old city wall is great and just a few minutes walk to all the museums, churches, restaurants…..Saving the best for last - the staff, everyone - was friendly, engaging and went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. La Casa was the highlight of our Avila visit.
PS Really enjoyed the pool and gardens.
* Location is superb. You can see the Avila Walls from some of the room windows. And it is just a few steps away from the Cathedral and the centre of the ancient town.
* The building itself is beautiful, and decoration is stunning.
* Not good or bad, just if you go by car, be aware of the tricky road you should take to get to the hotel parking. We had to call the hotel so he could explain to us manoeuvre to manoeuvre to get there.
The hotel is located 4 km from the center of Avila. It is close to a golf course and the main road. It has beautiful views of the surroundings and it is very peaceful and quiet. The swimming pool is nice and there is plenty of space for sunbathing. I used the gym in the basement everyday and had a really nice relaxing time. A perfect place for a weekend get away.
Superb hotel. Great location. lovely room. Clean. Lovely bathroom. Comfy bed. Superb a la carte breakfast . All prepared freshly. Waiter service. Spot on!! Motorbike parked safely at entrance to car park for free . Gate shut at night. Air con in room. Slept well. Situated within the city walls. Easy to get to all of the city. avila is an interesting place.
This beautiful boutique hotel is located in the murallas de Avila.
The decor of the entire place is intricate and charming. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Wifi was good too and the food served at the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was ok; a bit pricey for the options that were available especially for breakfast.
This hotel is spectacularly beautiful, all very well decorated, without a doubt reminiscent of being in a Palace. Its location within the walls of Avila and in front of the Cathedral is something wonderful. We had the opportunity to have tapas at the Restaurant and it was delicious. A very affordable price for such a magnificent place.
The best location in Avila! The Avila walls right outside the front door, lots of restaurants and historic sites with a couple of blocks and parking on site. Amazing value for the price. Susana the hostess is very gracious and welcoming. Highly recommended location for your visit to Avila!
We were two Cyclists from the UK on a 1000km ride around Spain. We were guests in late April/early May 2022. The location was superb, the welcome generous and the rooms 100% as expected - Our needs are simple: hot showers and warm beds – both were delivered to a high standard – Thank You
Long walk from train station but hotel is easy to find esp when it is by the front gate of old Avila fortress town. Odd that the room is small but bathroom is large . Very warm as the wall is about a metre thick. Love to be able to stroll outside the Avila walls safely at night.
The location is perfect and the hotel quite unique as it was the Bishop's home across from the Cathedral. The hotel decor is a bit dated, seems like my grandma decorated the hotel. It was clean, generous rooms, nice friendly staff and again, what a location.
Avila has a beautiful old town well worth visiting. The romanesque/ gothic cathedral is a masterpiece. We enjoyed the warren of medieval streets and atmosphere withing the old town walls. Definitely deserves its designation as a UNESCO world heritage site.
The parking was excellent! Breakfasts and dinners on site were fantastic conveniences. Very close to the city walls, about a ten minute walk from the hotel. The view of the walls of Avila at night from our room were breathtaking!
The hotel is very clean, the rooms and beds were comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The shopping area and bus stop are right across the street. The room was quiet, and had a small balcony.
This is a very comfortable hotel in the center of the old town has an interesting history. Our room was spacious and Christina and Emma were informative, helpful and kind.
This hotel was good value for money given how centrally located it was, just of the Mercado Chico square in central Ávila. The room was comfy, with an en-suite bathroom.
We have stayed here many times on our way through Spain and love the space, peace and tranquility here - as well as being welcomed like old friends by the ‘boss’!
This is an interesting accommodation option, well located in Ávila, within the walls, close to everything and at a reasonable price. Very clean and comfortable.
