My room was huge and very beautiful, as are the grounds. It’s amazing what a calm and tranquil environment this place has cultivated in a big city. I cannot emphasize enough how pretty the place is and how much there is to do- there’s a restaurant, a pool, a game area, a wifi lounge, etc. The shower was also amazing- hot water AND strong water pressure can be hard to come by.

Nice hotel in lago agrio to prepare for your Cuyabeno trip. For the price you have a wide room with an en suite toilet, bathtub, sofa and table. Can use the kitchen area and patio to hang clothes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the tourist park which is free entrance and nice to kill a couple of hours. Internet is good for working.

Staff are fantastic. Breakfast was yum. Bed was comfy. Very secure parking. I checked in around 5.30pm and asked if I could get laundry done and it was no problem, it was ready in the morning, great service.

    The city has a terrific tourist park that includes tropical plants and animals as well as cultural demonstrations. Another attraction is a series of restaurant/bars along the river just past the bridge that are easily and cheaply reached by cab. We ate good food there at the Safari restaurant, and enjoyed Che Carlitos Cevicheria and a Mexican restaurant in the town center. We also did a four-day river Amazon watershed trip that was simply terrific. On the other hand, this is a frontier town and a bit uncomfortable to walk around in. But we walked around a lot at night with no problems.

    Lago Agrio was a great town to stop in on the way to the Amazon. I’m glad I planned a night there on either side of my trip to recover and not travel too much every day. There’s lots of restaurants and the city felt pretty safe to walk around. I wouldn’t suggest traveling here unless you are using it as a stop along the way, but it’s the perfect kind of town to stop in to break up the travel a little.

    The town is relatively large and busy.

    The town is relatively large and busy. It's not a primary tourist town like baños or Puyo but it's full of local restaurants and there's a nice natural park almost in the centre of town. At night the town didn't feel as safe as some of the more tourist focused towns but it's a gateway to some great Amazon jungle destinations.

    The real interest here is the Amazone Jungle.

    The real interest here is the Amazone Jungle. I have spend few months on the Chichico Reserve it was amazing, beautiful landscape on the river Agua Rico, lot of birds, monkeys, frogs, snakes, tropical plants and old trees 🐦🐒🐍🚣 On the town you could find all that you need and descovering local food 🍚 😍😍😍
