The only reason to stay here was to get an early bus to the Quilotoa loop. Walked round and there were zero attractions to visit. Even the churches were shut but that may have been due to the State of Emergency. Didn't eat out because I didn't see anywhere open I fancied eating in.

Though not much to do in the city, it's nevertheless a convenient stop for accessing all the nearby volcanoes and lakes. The city has a potential, it needs a bit of tourism infrastructure to encourage longer stay rather than a quick passing through.

It’s an easy trip from Latacunga, with fresh air and beautiful views of Cotopaxi. They can even arrange a few different tours or transportation for you which is a great bonus when you don’t know exactly where to go or how. Also super family friendly, with a lot of space for kids to run around and plenty of fun for everyone, with pool tables, ping pong tables, basketball, volleyball, football. We stayed for one night before doing the Quilotoa loop and two nights after. Marco took us for free to the bus station to go to Sigchos, up to Cotopaxi ($35/person) and to the bus station again to Quito for free. The staff and the hotel manager were extremely friendly and did everything to make my stay a peasant one. They helped me a lot when I fell ill, The always organised a taxi. From the hotel I could reach important places near by in the city and farther way very quickly. I thank them a lot.

Shower had hot water and the hostel is between the bus terminal and the city main square so perfect for one night to sleep and leave your bags (for free) before doing the Quilotoa trek. Victor, the owner, used to be a guide and gave us a bunch of info about the trek.
