Not too touristy, but plenty for tourists to do.
Not too touristy, but plenty for tourists to do. Beautiful old German city with an intact city wall and gates! You can climb the tall church tower and see to the edge of the crater (weather permitting). Check out the crater museum or the city museum or the wall/tower museum. Walk on the old city wall. Take a day-trip to Dachau or Burg Harburg (large old castle). Rent e-bikes and go for a ride. Grocery store and several bakeries in the center of town. The complete city wall was fun to explore. We ascended the 350 steps of the church tower in the center of the town for a terrific view of the town and surrounding area. The town is cute and a good choice for a stop along the Romantic Road.RummlerUnited States - 10Scored 10
Great little place with all the charm of a warm cup of cocoa...
Great little place with all the charm of a warm cup of cocoa on a winter day (even though it was summer). Rothenburg ob der Tauber gets all the tourists, while this place retains it's soul. The Train museum is good. The people of the town are friendly. The value of the accommodations and food are worth driving the extra 45 minutes from Rothenburg. We are definitely coming back.

Nordlingen is a lovely town, very clean with a good selection of shops and eateries, and fabulous old buildings. Adorable little town with a great medieval wall surrounding the perimeter. It’s actually the city in the end scene of “Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory” when they fly out of the roof of the factory. It had all the conveniences of a much larger city with the quaint old town feeling without being overrun with tourists or students. I would go back to hang out on a road trip layover stop again.StephanieSwitzerland

Have stayed at 5 different hotels in Nördlingen and actually hated all of them and I'm not real picky. But this hotel is by far the best and a place I will look forward to coming to next year. In fact, st checkout I already rebooked for next year. Thanks for an amazing stay!

The property is beautiful, with cozy, tastefully furnished rooms and a large backyard with some farm animals. The breakfast was also generous. The hosts helped us a lot with things to do in the town. We even forgot some clothes in the room, but the hosts made sure that our stuff reached us all the way in Hamburg!

Most facilities in this apartment is quite new and soon you forget it ia a really old house. It is at great location too. Friendly and considerable host.
