Staff are extremely friendly and nice. There is a small playground right outside our rooms which is good for family with young kids like ours.
Coffee at breakfast was good.

Exceptionally well located property, overlooking Ettal monastery and surrounding Alpine meadows.
Our room (family room) was extra spacious, modern and bright wooden decor - feels fresh and updated, with two separate rooms and huge, covered balcony overlooking the Kloster Ettal - a magical view! Since it was cold outside, we super valued ability to switch on heating and get the room truly warm. The bathroom was excellent, with all the amenities and plush, soft towels in ample amount. Espresso machine and fully stocked minibar completed the picture - really impressive!
The dinner was good - nice, small and separate restaurant onsite, cozy, with great choices of food and drinks - we enjoyed. The breakfast next day was good - a pretty standard choice of hot and cold food, nice tea selection, very spacious breakfast room (no much service at the table, neither any a la carte dishes). A separate compliment to restaurant and staff - they speaks good English and actually, were surprisingly many international guests at the hotel.
Overall - we liked the place, it also feels much more than a 3 star hotel (except for breakfast, perhaps), as it also has Spa and even room service was available.
The family-run Parkhotel Sonnenhof offers Alpine-style rooms, a well-equipped spa area and a daily breakfast buffet. It is located in Oberammergau, just 20 km from the Austrian border.

Really nice hotel. A little on the expensive side, but with the facilities like swimming pool and Sauna, it probably fits in the range. Nice surroundings, with a beautiful church just around the corner. Breakfast is nice, but less choice.
Eschenlohe is about 20 km from the nearest sightseeing areas...
Eschenlohe is about 20 km from the nearest sightseeing areas, it has a small grocery store which closes at noon, like many small towns.
The apartment smelled very musty, the kitchen was well stocked, but dark. The balcony was tiny.
I cannot recommend the rental.
The hotel is set in the most beautiful location. The room was extremely spacious with fantastic views. The bed was comfortable with nice bed linen. We had a bathroom and separate toilet. Breakfast was amazing, the choice of food was vast, beautifully presented, there really was something for everyone. All the staff we encountered were friendly, polite and welcoming. There is a restaurant for evening meals which was outstanding and highly recommended. Would recommend this hotel if you’re in the area.
Charming, traditional Bavarian hotel with fantastic views of the mountains, including the Zugspitze. We are an English family with three kids aged 9-12 and there is loads for families to do in the local area, if you like being active. The off-road bike trails are wonderful with kids and there are lots of swimming and walking opportunities. There are hiking trails directly from the hotel. Highly recommended.
This is a lovely traditional hotel which is spotlessly clean and well run by a welcoming and friendly family.
It is located in a village with a choice of places to eat, our room was a good size with generous en-suite and a balcony with distant views of the Zugspitze and Alpspitze.
Amazing view of the mountains (panorama windows), spacious rooms, sauna, hiking trails behind the hotel, newly opened restaurant with great Bavarian-Italian cuisine and skilled chef, very friendly hotel owners
