Ústí have a really negative reputation amongst the Czech...
Ústí have a really negative reputation amongst the Czech cities. But its not all bad. Interesting architecture, where few ancient buildings like churches and similar, exists among the remembrances of the comunist and post-comunist Brutalism. You should check Castle, Masaryk ship Locks, Větruše and old Church bombarded in WW2. If you like coffee visit C´UP coffee.

I was there for business (I go about once a year).
I was there for business (I go about once a year). I did have a surprisingly good meal after which I went bowling with colleges (same establishment, about 2m km from hotel). However, I do not think I'd pick Usti as a destination for a holiday.

A beautiful city with wonderful views. a place where you can eat tasty Czech food and drink delicious beer. There is a nice zoo in the town and many tourist attractions nearby. Laba proves that the Czech Republic is not only Prague. In restaurants, usually when you want to eat a knuckle(Golonka), you have to order at least a day in advance.

Usti is awesome.
Usti is awesome. Never any crowds and easily accessible to the rest of the country. One tip I recommend, stay away from the Euro-City trains unless you make a reservation in advance. They will sell you a ticket (even first class) and no seats will be available. The other trains are better and less hassle.

There is not a lot to see overall (as in not major sites) But this is not a bad thing A very pleasant place to walk around Spotting some gems of you take time to enjoy the surroundings A compact and bustling place but with a laid back feel ... Friendly and helpful (suoermarkets and vinette queries I had) people and one of those places I am glad I took a chance on Some good bars and cheap too Not on the tourist radar ,but a lovley place to get away from the much busier places the Czech Republic has to over Do not need to go out of the way ,but worth considering

I'm not picky, fried eggs and bacon mostly, but a surprising number of hotels do not bother with fried eggs, preferring to scramble instead. They also had croissants, which was nice, but I could not find any jam. The coffee was OK, But at least the espresso machine was fast, so there were no lines. They also have underground garage and had no problem with my parking before I checked in and leaving it there for the rest of the day after I checked out,RobertCzech Republic

The rooms (we booked 2) were clean and well equipped, The compliment was nice (jelly bears) and at the end kids were trated with sweets. The breakfast was tasty with a variety of delicious cheese and sausagees . The hosts were welcoming and the grounds are well maintained with a beautiful pond. I felt secure and comfortable. As a non-driver, the accommodation is a good 40 minute walk from the centre, of Usti nad Labem but there are frequent buses.

Even the architecture, colors and setting are as enchanting as Hotel Budapest. And then there is also the hyper helpful hotel staff.
