This was our first trip with a baby - we had our 4 month old daughter with us and stayed here for 8 nights. It was truly exceptional. The staff is so thoughtful, kind, generous, gracious, and helpful. Our baby was in love with them all holding her while we got to eat meals. I am forever grateful to the lovely ladies working the front desk and restaurant - they made our trip so wonderful. Speaking of the meals, wow. Breakfast was awesome and has such a great menu that even being there for 8 days, it never got old. We also had dinner and lunch at the restaurant - also so great. The room was perfect and the free laundry service was so helpful with the baby. We even had a pack n play provided by the place to borrow making our travel even easier. We got to surf everyday with the ease of the ocean right down the epic jungle path. We watched monkeys for hours from our balcony, spent afternoons taking our baby in the pool for the first time, and could enjoy air conditioned naps in the hot afternoon. This will be a trip we hold dear forever as it was our first as parents and Olas Verdes will be remembered as the best possible place to spend it. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will be back for sure.

This hotel was perfect for my family of 4. The residences are incredibly well appointed and spacious with a full kitchen, dining area and outdoor terrace. We selected the Tropical Garden Grand Residence which has its own private cold plunge, sauna and outdoor shower. The rooftop terrace and pool is a dream and the kids especially loved the breakfasts and activities. All steps from perfect beach and surf. Already booked my return over the Holidays. Thanks Silvestre for an amazing trip :)

The town is very charming with lots of both local, mid range and upscale restaurants. The problem is with the roads. We drove 2 1/2 hours from Playa flamingo down the coast and fully half of that time was on rutted dirt roads. The town itself had ro ases that were worse than rutted with giant potholes sometimes two or 3 feet deep. It made us wish we had a four-wheel-drive which many of the locals drive. They called them quads, which are four wheeled ATVs. We were there in dry season so I can only imagine what happens to the roads in the rainy season. It would not be a pretty sight.

Costa Rica is a very special country, but what I like best of all in Nosara (Guiones/Pelada) are the people. Both Ticos (Costa Ricans) and expats are among the friendliest, most genuinely helpful and generous, and most laid back folks anywhere. And it is the gorgeous natural beauty and tranquility of this place that must be the cause.

Nosara is a small town and the area is not very developed.
Nosara is a small town and the area is not very developed. Driving was somewhat terrifying (more so than the zip lining, to be sure). The nature there is beautiful and preserved. I would recommend staying at a nice resort if you want to go there. There are several and this would have made our experience much better. Since we had a kitchen, we used the grocery store often. It had great products, but was not air conditioned.

Nosara is definitely a place to go if you like surfing.
Nosara is definitely a place to go if you like surfing. There are a variety of waves for all types of surfers and the beach is HUGE so there is a ton of room for all surfers. The water is warm and you can body surf, boogie board as well...you really want to be "into the ocean" to be in Nosara...we took beach cruisers from one to the other on the beach since the sand is compacted...that was a lot of fun...and a beautiful ride. People are GREAT in Nosara....we will return.

Nosara is a gorgeous little village by the beach, but it is fast changing. It is very now americanised, lots of new expensive houses are being built. Restaurants and bars are good, but more expensive than everywhere we have been in CR. Most shops, hotels bars and restaurants charge in $ (although you can pay cash in Colones).
I enjoyed Nosara, the Guiones Beach is gorgeous especially at sunset, but I did not feel like I was in CR. I think Samara would have been more what I was looking for.

More expensive than the average Costa Rican town, has been developing massively in the past few years, the road access is as poor as always though. Beaches are fantastic, restaurant options are amazing (this wasn’t the case a few years ago). The Nomadic Hotel a gem.
Very beautiful resort in the middle of the jungle not far from the ocean with a clear focus on yoga and wellness.
Everything what has to do with yoga is excellent - all the facilities and instructors are perfect. Yoga sessions are held minimum 3 times per day and attract many people staying in Nosara (not essentially at Bodhi Tree itself).
If you do not have a car/motorbike you can get a bicycle for free to get around, which I used every day. Are not the best ones and are not looked after properly (very rusty), but worked well for me.
I stayed at several coastal destinations around Costa Rica on this trip, and in hindsight, I am wishing I had just stayed at Selena Nosara the whole time. The beaches were the best I found the location was awesome and just the property in general was amazing. I had everything I was looking for right there from the accommodations to the other excursions I wanted to do. I typically have a rule where I don’t visit any one place twice, however, I may break that rule this time. Staying here, really made the trip for me
Dave the owner speaks perfect English and Spanish, and is very knowledgeable about the area. he is very responsive on WhatsApp and even drove to help us get coolant for our engine when we were stranded at 5pm on a holiday during a torrential downpour! the villa could not be more centrally located in Playa Guiones. we walked to the beach to catch sunset almost every night and many restaurants, surf schools and shops. we can't wait to come back!
The accommodation was perfect. We loved the pool and the chilled atmosphere. Our hosts, Lisa and Luca, were attentive when they needed to be but also left us alone too - perfect. The food was superb, we loved the breakfasts with a local twist and had a superb and very memorable Christmas dinner under the stars. Our whole stay was impossible to fault. The photos are very accurate but don’t do the hotel justice, the reality is SO much better.
Huge apartment with everything we needed for a family of five with young children. The owner manager welcomed us and was available for anything we needed. We loved walking out onto the Main Street of the village full of restaurants and shops. But the reason you come to Nosara is the beach, and Playa Guiones is simply amazing. Jumping in the pool at this villa completes your perfect beach day.
I loved everything here. It was the perfect costa Rican stay. It felt like a wilderness lodge with spectacular natural grounds and view to the ocean. The pool setting was divine and breakfast remarkableAgnes’ attention to details, aesthetic, and welcoming presence was the icing on the cake. The nearby beach was the most beautiful we have found to date in Costa Rica
The hotel is next to the Harmony hotel (same hotel chain) so it is in the center, close to the beach, and the service is excellent. Tatiana at the reception provided us with exceptional service. In general the whole staff was courteous. The room is clean, and the food in the restaurant is delicious.
This is a very quirky but beautiful hotel. The grounds and location are so tranquil and relaxing. What I have noticed is more foreigner tourists at Playa Guiones and more Costa Rican tourists in Playa Pelada hotels like this one. The pool is huge and the complementary breakfast was very good.
I loved the one night i spent here. It was relaxed, beautiful and spotlessly clean. The staff were really helpful plus its a five minute walk to the beach and also an amazing local restaurant where I ate the best meal I had in Costa Rica - a Thai green curry lol!
Beautiful and simple boutique hotel with great service - including laundry on demand - within short walk of great surfing beach. Rooms are large, hot water is plentiful,, pool is open until 9 pm, and sttaff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.
I am not a person who complains normally but really think the price isn’t fair for what it is. I am staying at a different hotel now in playa guiones which is much better in all terms and cheaper.
Great location but not good value for the price.
Beautifully designed boutique property. You feel part of the family by staying there. Great location, 5 min away from the beach. The Friday's communal table is a must. One of the best bars to get delicious handcrafted cocktails in a nice setting.
Lota of showers with hot water. The man who owns the hostel was super friendly and showed us good spots in the area. In front of the hostel, a woman makes great Costa rican food for 5$. All rooms have A/C.
Selina Nosara is by far the best Selina I have seen ! It's really luxurious, the people are super nice and interesting, and the room (the Suite) was perfect for us (we were 4 people) and super clean.
Loved the location setting and decor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect surf botique and enjoyed being associated with the Harmony Hotel as it increased the emenities but kept it very quaint.
Perfect place to stay in the Nosara area. Quiet, almost private beach just 5 minute walk away and Guiones about 15 minutes. EJ and the staff treat you like family. Will definitely return!
I don’t think you could find a more friendly staff. The facility was clean, comfortable and smack dab on the beach with some of the best sand break Ive surfed.
