Pool was amazing and there was a huge restaurant and chill out area with hammocks, chairs, sofas etc. food portions were good (we only ever ate from the snack menu as these were definitely the equivalent of meals) and the staff are lovely and helpful. Super close to Tayrona National Park and easy to find / get to!

Exceptional location, right at the junction between the sea and the river. Our room was incredible... literally above the waves crashing with an open concept and a Mosquito net around the bed. By far, the best accommodation we had in Colombia! Lovely staff, nice pool, excellent restaurant and breakfast. Very special place. Do not miss it!

Lovely family-run place perched on a hill overlooking the jungle and sea. Really wonderful people. Our daughters loved playing with the animals on site. The food was also very good. How about that view from the pool! And the nearby beach is magical.

Proximity to Tayrona really good - El Zaino entrance and walks. Other destinations a longer taxi ride (such as Minca) but all manageable.
Property itself is lovely. Immaculate, spacious and a very good food offering. Delightful service.
Nice pool and lots of space around to take in diffract views. Only negative is the weak shower pressure (cabana 1).
Easy drop down to beach and sea - and very atmospheric bar for sundowners.
Pretty much perfect

Liked: Came here in October 2021 and returned mainly because the place is absolutely beautiful. The view is stunning, you're in the middle of nature and wherever you look there are amazing birds or giant trees.
Disliked: During our five day stay, the water was cut three times and electricity went out twice (this didn't happen last year). Also, almost every night a noisy water leakage would start under the cabin and the last night there was a hydraulic motor-bomb malfunction nearby, very noisy as well. Every time I called the administration and they responded in good will, sometimes being able to help and sometimes not. But these issues are clearly the result of long-term poor management, and there is only so much the on-site staff can do.
Also, the hotel sells the idea of being able to offer good wi-fi: nothing could be further from the truth. Wi-fi is extremely unstable. You can go hours, even days without connection. So this is not a good place to go if you require a stable internet signal. I went with the idea of working remotely and had a negative experience in that department.
This said, it wasn't a horrible couple of days, but I'll be looking elsewhere for my next trip.

Los naranjos is a huge place where the jungle merge with the beach, divided by a river that can be crossed wslking when the tide is low, aligators are the puppies of the area and althought they look dangerous they only like to take a sunbath, they are afraid of humans, but dont test this, keep away from them and enjoy, the beach have different walking access, explore them all.

This was a mixed bag.
This was a mixed bag. On the upside, the restaurant was really fantastic and the view from the deck chairs, overlooking the beach, was just stunning. The room was clean and the restaurant staff were friendly. That said, the photographs of the rooms are misleading, as the rooms are actually really really dark, with just a few dim lamps providing a little bit of light. The “sea view” from the room that is pictured in the snaps is also not really anything. You can barely see the water. When we told the front desk staff that this was not what they were advertising, they said they would "be back to discuss" and then never showed up. Since it was only one night, we decided to just stick it out. Also, at this price, it seems like the hotel could have hot water in the showers. Oh, and our room was next to the kitchen so we were woken up early with noise from the staff, blender, etc.
I wanted a few relaxing days and that’s exactly what I had at Casa Tayrona. The location and hotel are exactly like the photos. It’s beautiful and so lovely to be so near the sea (even if it is too dangerous to swim there but the pool is great.)
Juan David and his team looked after me so well, especially Angela, Dianis and Laura. I’m vegetarian and this was one of the best places I ate during my travels in Colombia. They also arranged taxis to/from Santa Marta.
It’s a small hotel so it’s quiet. Perfect to chill out.
Fabulous location overlooking the Rio Piedra and Tayrona National Park. The area is so verdant and so full of creatures and feels like a tropical paradise. In the hotel grounds we saw numerous birds, iguanas and even caiman crocodiles.
We had the swimming pool suite which overlooks a small deck with a pool and the Rio Piedra.! The restaurant is very good and the service was excellent. I can’t recomend it enough. The hotel pricing is also very reasonable. It’s clearly a well run establish with some excellent staff.
It was very cool and adventurous stay at Cabana Barlovento. The rooms are open - without windows, directly above the Caribic sea, so you can really feel it and also hear it! The surroundings is really beautiful - there are around 5 hotel buildings in this complex, restaurant, bar and the pool. The beach was also very nice for relax although the waves are mostly big and the streams very strong, so be careful. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. We can recommend this place.
Absolutely loved our stay at Casa Xué! The location was amazing, just a short bus ride away from Tayrona and within walking distance from the beach. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery, which is especially nice to observe from the eating/common area where you get views of the jungle (also perfect for watching the sunset in the evening). And most importantly, the staff was extremely lovely and friendly! Each one of them contributed to the amazing experience we have had here!
The location and its surroundings are stunning. Close walk to the beach and the perfect place for us as a family. Having monkeys and other local animals was the absolute highlight of the trip.
We can’t be thankful enough with Katy, from Girona Travels the partner independent agency working with the hotel, who went many miles beyond to accommodate the needs of our big group. She is a jewel in this hotel and you will get fantastic experiences under her watch.
I loved everything about this hotel. Staff was beyond amazing. The hotel was basic but at the same time very comfortable. The food was incredible the best during my vacation. The chef’s name is Don Luis but wow that man can cook. Excellent location close to the park. Private beach connected to the river, therefore you get to enjoy both simultaneously. The views are to dye for.
Staffing was super nice. I had a food poisoning (which happened before I arrived at the Casa Bambu!) and they were the best - they took good care of me, offered me food outside of the normal menu, and we’re checking in on me frequently.
The hotel is in a vila, with a private beach and beautiful surroundings.
I would certainly recommend and stay again.
Very nice place with beautiful views, close to the tayrona park and with access to a beach. The massage service is very nice to relax!
Everything is a little overpriced at the restaurant.
We had a misunderstanding about the taxi service but in the end the staff was kind and honest so I would recommend this hotel to others.
The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable and big. The staff was fabulous and cooked incredible home made food. The manager went out of her way to help us book a river float even though we got to the hotel late in the day. A taxi ride away from the national park. Tayrona was worth the visit.
I loved the staff and the setting of the hotel is beautiful. The staff is incredible and food is delicious. Hotel is 10 mins walk to the beautiful beach.
Nothing else is close by but u can take the local bus which is a 5 min walk from the hotel and comes every 20 mins.
It’s in an amazing location, the sound of the ocean is incredible, and Tayrona National park entrance only 10 minutes away. The food is good, the rooms very comfortable and the hotel itself beautiful with several lovely pools
You can't beat the views at Hotel Casa Barlovento. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are yummy with quite a few options. The pool was clean and refreshing!
Our stay at Villa Playa was exceptional. The staff were incredible and the chefs cooked such delicious food. Villa Playa is a little oasis walking distance to a private beach. Would highly recommend here for a stay.
The hotel is located close to a private beach, the staff is very attentive and they are ready to help on anything you may need. Breakfast is nice, chef Jair, cooks delicious meals at a convenient price
We felt at home, Maria the owner and her staff were very cordial and attentive to our requests! very close to an excellent restaurant, five minutes from the beach and everything very quiet and safe
Very friendly owners. Breakfast was good. The pool is amazing best view compared to other hotels in the area, room was clean. ( for dinner go across the road to casa Isabella)
I can only write in superlatives. This hotel was the best choice. Great room, great pool, very nice staff, incredible restaurant, the only bad thing is that I had to leave…
A stunning property. Really sweet staff. Overall such a peaceful and beautiful place. The pictures don’t do it justice! Other hotel guests were
also very kind.
