This is a truly exceptional place to stay. Mary, the owner is a dream host. She cooks wonderful meals for breakfast and evening dinner, she sorts out your itineraries and is very knowledgeable of the area. Yuelu is 3 minutes from the park entrance. the room itself is lovely. I have traveled a lot and am hard pushed to find a better place to stay. Mary also has top tips on magical quieter places to visit and my word, they are worth it. I can’t speak highly enough.

The location is beautiful. I love how it is close to nature. Very peaceful surrounding. And close proximity to the Zhangjiajie National Park. Service was first class. Rain & Frankie always responded promptly to our requests. They also helped with our tour plan and entrance tickets. Food was delicious and freshly prepared. Carol was so helpful. She arranged a taxi for myself and my friend when we arrived at the train station, and the driver took us to an ATM to get cash out. She was always on hand to help with any queries or concerns. The set up of the hostel breakfast/dinner allowed us to meet other people and have an enjoyable rural experience.

Carol and her family are incredibly welcoming and always ready to help out (e.g. choosing spots to visit in the park, booking transportation, etc.). They offer in-house cooking that’s freshly made and also caters to vegetarian needs. It‘s also super delicious! Also, the Yangjiajie Ticket Office is less crowded than other entrances to the park, yet close to many sights.
