We had an absolutely amazing balcony view from our room. All of the staff were all really friendly and helpful and gave us advice on activities and followed up to see if we enjoyed things. Breakfast was great. Facilities were clean and they had a great picnic room where you could eat your own food and prepare basic things and also all day tea and coffee available. We had a wonderful stay here and are very grateful to the staff.

More or less everything was as it should be. I like the fact that you could cook your own eggs at breakfast and there was a good selection of breads. The staff were all very nice indeed and the hotel was quiet amid beautiful scenery.

The staff was extremly friendly. The woman that welcomed us (I presume she was the owner of the hotel) actualy gave us a larger room with mountain view free of additional charge. Me and my girlfriend are foodies, and we like fancy restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel was Michelin standard, for a reasonable price (Dinner costed around 150€ but it was worth of it). Very tasty and good portions.

We stayed in the chalet attached to Hotel Stechelberg, so big and comfortable.
Photographs do not do it justice, such a beautiful place. Snow capped mountain all year round, surrounded by blue skies, mountains, green fields and wild flowers.
Witnessed some of the farming activity in an UNESCO region - farmer moving his cows to higher grounds, well worth seeing. Hay making, cutting the meadows, baling, wrapping bales etc.
We did one of the walks around the bottom of the mountain and went to Trummelbach-Falle. Rivers so clean, you can see the pebbles and stones. Really caters for all age groups. Public transport punctual.
Family room with a balcony accessible from the hall was an excellent and unexpected benefit - overseeing the mountains and the waterfalls over the green trees - amazing with a glass of wine. All was excellent, staff friendly, breakfast, location, parking, etc. Lauterbrunnen can get crowded, at the end of the valley (here) is much better and a great place to start a hike further up pr easy walk down the valley. For families with kids - it's calm and peaceful.
This hotel is unique in its location. The view of the mountains, the sound of the rivers lulling you to sleep --what more do you want for a holiday?
The restaurant has a most beautiful, traditional gravelled outdoor area. You can dine under chestnut trees, perfect to relax and feel lightyears away from the hot city
Breakfast is rich with dark bread or white buns, müesli, yoghurt, eggs, ham, cheese, orange juice, etc., etc.
This place is for people who don't like to see other people :-). The chalet is located at the end of the road in Stechelberg, so you don't have much traffic. The hotel restaurant is about 50m from the chalet. The chalet itself has a terrace with unbeatable panoramic view of the mountains including Breithorn. This is an ideal place for relaxation or hiking or both. Highly recommended!
We had the most amazing time and that is because our stay at the Alpenhof was perfect! The house was beyond clean, Diane was warm/friendly/very informative and the location was perfect! Our only mistake was not bringing enough of our own food to cook in the incredible kitchen. We will definitely be back and would recommend the Alpenhof as a perfect vacation spot. Thank you Diane!
It was my fourth time at this place. I enjoyed every momemnt with my friends. We did a hike from Stechelberg “Winteregg loop” and had a Fondue for a dinner at The Alpenhof Mountain House (there is equipment for that). You just need to buy cheese. Diane is such a warm and friendly person. We felt like in a family. She took very good care of us. Until next time!
My friend and I really liked this place. The bus from Lauterbruen station takes you right down the valley to the hotel (last stop). It’s a cosy family run hotel that you feel at home in. Room was basic and comfy. Outstanding beauty surrounds this place so you are spoilt for choice on what to do. And it’s away from the tourist crowds.
The property is located in a beautiful mind blowing location. We could see waterfalls from our balcony. The kitchen is well maintained and sufficed all our needs. The property is 5 mins walk from Stechelberg Post bus stop. The owners very helpful with any information we needed regarding our travel plans.
Location is close to the bus stop. It has almost everything you need to self cater. It was comfortable and warm. It had a great selection of TV channels. Including most of the UK mainstream channels.its lovely and quiet even though its is on the road to Stechelberg.
The restaurant was more pleasant than I expected, eating in the garden. Food was as good as anywhere in the valley. Stechelberg turned out to be a good location to use as a base for walking. Breakfast was good.
The house is really nice, warm and well placed, in a quiet area at the end of Stechelberg and close to everything we needed.
The owners are super friendly and helpful.
We'll for sure be back soon! *****
It’s beautifully set in the back of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The historic hotel has high ceilings and beautiful views. Dianne warmly welcomed me, and showed me around the impeccably clean hotel.
Great view, over all comfortable room and clean. Having a restaurant in hotel was great. Jennifer is the most smiley and kind young lady that I met in all of Switzerland
We loved the fact that the chalet is nestled right in the back of Lauterbrunnen Valley and close to various recreation activities and other small towns.
