The Hotel am Spisertor is located next to the pedestrianized shopping area right in the center of St. Gallen. It has a garden terrace and is connected to the Kursana retirement home.

Whenever I visit St. Gallen, I stay at Hotel Am Spisertor due to its central location, reasonable price, and quality. Having stayed there more than 10 times over the past 20 years, I can attest that the hotel and its staff have never failed to excel. I will return next time I am in town.

    The hotel was very friendly and parking was very easy.

    The hotel was very friendly and parking was very easy. Our balcony had a marvellous view of Lake Constance. It was short walk downhill to the lakefront, with various acxtivities in the marina area (including a curry wurst stand). We ate in the restaurant at the hotel, and the food was just fine. The breakfast selection was reasonable for the area. (no fried eggs though!) We would certainly stay again

    Everything was excellent from start to finish: very friendly staff through the hotel, very nice, spacious and well appointed room (if you can, get a junior suite with lake view), dinner at the restaurant was also very good (nice variety of choices and good wine list, nice views of the lake from almost all tables) and so was the breakfast (wide selection). Highly highly recommended!

    The hotel location has beautiful views of the lake. The train ride is convenient with a very close walk. The dinner was delicious. Curry lentils with a vegetarian quiche. Breakfast was very good. Croissants were warm, Bircher muesli was delicious, variety of meats. The single rooms were all different and comfortable. The staff were so warm, friendly and accommodating,

    Location and lake secenery is spectacular. When arriving to hotel is very clear that castle is real and not one of those artificial places that looks only good in photos. Hotel staff is very friendly. Great place to do hiking around the area. When driving to hotel, I recommend to take longer route that arrives to hotel from the top of the hill.

    Charming welcome and helpful lady at reception. She was very professional and kind. The room was lovely with a balcony and fabulous view over lake Bodensee. Very comfortable bed and super shower. Excellent and fast room service dinner. Safe free parking and free coffee, fruit and water available. A very well managed hotel.

    The magnificent view of the lake on the ground floor room with terrace and table/chairs. The terrace between the rooms are divided with live trees for privacy. Breakfast was perfect even of the Covid-19 precations and limitations . Free parking available in the hotel.

    Staff is perfect everbody is kind and helpful. Easy checkin and check out. The bed is extra comfortable and the double sized bed is not 2 in 1. Really slept well. Breakfast 5 stars, with local cheese. Would like to return. The view from the hotel is breath taking.

    The view from the restaurant outdoor was stunning! We saw hawks, cows, boats on the lake, beautiful thunder etc. The vibe was serene and positive. The server/hotel manager was great, the wine was good and we would visit again.
