Not sure if it was because of the lack of snow, but we found Murren to be quite sleepy. Very few tourists. Appeared to be lots of vacancies in town. Many shops appeared to have shut down for the season. The skiing was actually quite good at elevation throughout the Jungfrau region in spite of the lack of natural snowfall and we of course appreciate the train system to travel throughout the region. The terrain in the region is more beginner/intermediate than we anticipated, though there are some nice steeps if you know where to look. Murren seems to be the more remote place to stay so if traveling to the various resorts via train will annoy you, consider staying in Wengen or Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen.

Mürren was perfect.
Mürren was perfect. The town is quite nice and sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley. We stayed in Grindelwald prior to staying in Mürren and we so glad we made the effort to stay here. Amazing!!!

Beautiful quiet village with easy access to all other locations in the Lauterbrunnen valley. There is not as much open in Murren in the period before the full winter season gets underway. Make sure you make a note of the Murren Bahn timetable.

The valley feels like Yosemite only bigger and more accessible. The town of Murren is at the top of the valley and mountains go up another few thousand feet from there. The whole place is unbelievably scenic.
A lot of things close down in early October, like the funicular train up the mountain..

We had a beautiful awesome view from our room and enjoyed a glass of wine most nights on the balcony. The breakfast was tasty and the variety of food available made sure everyone was happy and satisfied. Great coffee and lots of juice choices were available also. We also enjoyed dinners there. After trying a few other restaurants in Murren we found we liked Alpenblick best. Jeanette and Thomas were the best hosts ever. They were always helpful and extremely knowledgable about train times, hikes, weather and things to do in the area.
The room was fantastic with incredible views. One problem is the picture on the Booking.com website did not match the room we reserved on Booking.com. We had to change rooms and pay more for the room we thought we were reserving. But it was worth the extra cost. The town of Murren is beautiful and the hotel was a short walk to the cable car to Lauterbrunnen. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was included. It was a very good, normal Swiss breakfast with breads, cheeses, meat and fruit.
Breakfast was good and we could eat as much as we wanted. The room was a good size for two persons. The small outdoor spa at the local sports complex a short walk away was really nice for soaking in surrounded by mountains, But our room had no view of the mountains for which we came a long way for. Murren itself is a pretty village with very beautiful traditional houses AND no traffic!
As the main accommodation on the family holiday trip, we thoroughly enjoyed the comforts of the apartment. The owners insisted on picking us from the train station to the chalet and viceversa. Very happy to choice it so right, in the first holidays in Switzerland. With the children we enjoyed the swimming pool offered by the Murren sports complex upon payment of the tourist tax.
Ideally located in Murren. Staff was awesome! They were attentive and very nice! We had several instances of the staff doing little things to help us that really made a difference to us! The hotel has been renovated recently and they did a great job. It was a first rate experience for us!
Honestly ,location couldnt be better-the wiew from the balcony was amazing so I didnt focus on facilities etc.room was very clean thoug, spacious enough.Breakfast was good. All staff were very friendly, kind and helpfull (they allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel after check out)
Christoph and his team made us feel like family. The chef made excellent dinners each night. Also, the view from the hotel (and our room) was SPECTACULAR! A hiker's paradise! Christoph worked with us on early an earlier than expected departure, due to illness.
First off the price. I paid 1/2 to stay there for more nights than any place else on our holiday! The front balcony is fantastic. We drank a lot of coffee just admiring the view. Best shower ever!! Very clean. Close to gondolas for going down or up from murren.
Switzerland never fails to amaze me and my family especially this lovely place situated in the 'sky' and this hotel helped make this experience even better!
Location is fantastic including the view from your very room's balcony. Breakfast is fantastic too!
Staff is very sweet and kind, we were arriving with my boyfriend quite late to the hotel, and as it was my boyfriend's birthday, they I pre-ordered some food and prosecco, they set it all up for us.
Great location. Very nice dinner and fondue.
The view was absolutely incredible. The property is right on the side of the mountain. This was our favorite place to stay in Switzerland for the 2 weeks we were in the country. The staff was kind and accommodating. The room was nice.
Really clean space with a good buffet breakfast and restaurant for dinner! The hotel was a bit of a walk from the cable car to Mürren but the train lets out right in front! We had a cute little shared balcony.
