We would have preferred a more traditional breakfast. I understand that the breakfast they served would be enjoyable to many people and certainly went with the west coast theme of Pluvio.

We chose Ukee as a cheaper alternative of Tofino and did not regret it. The Inn is directly in the harbour which gives a nice view in the evening. The light house trail is super nice and sunsets are worth a visit there. The room was super big with two big comfortable beds.
Ucluelet Aquarium is 3 minutes’ drive from this non-smoking Ucluelet property. Free WiFi is included. Spring Cove views are offered.

Ukee is a great little town.
Ukee is a great little town. Although we bought a piece of art there, it offers much wilderness than shopping opportunities.
In addition to its unpretentious charm, Ukee offers a more pocket-friendly experience than its neighbour, Tofino, in our experience (although everything is more expensive here than the rest of Vancouver Island.)
However, both places have incredible beaches and forests, and bookend the National Park with a trail between the two towns.
Just be warned that the last part of the highway is an adventure before you decide to turn left to go to Ukee or right to go to Tofino.
I loved driving it with my "Mario Andretti" mindset, which wasn't that pleasant for my husband, LOL.
It's windy, narrow, and bumpy in parts, and if you have a slow poke in front of you (which we had on the way back), it can be incredibly frustrating.

I loved Ucluelet a whole lot more than Tofino, it isn't as touristy and "plastic", like the difference between Banff and Jasper, I always prefer the place closer to nature. Maybe doesn't have all the sandy beaches, but one can easily drive to it. I'd love it if the information about the length of the walks to beaches etc. were more clear, even on the hike, like where we are now and how long to go etc. Beauty in abundance, I loved every minute of it, I remembered it from 10 years ago and it was even better now. I'd love to come back for more and be able to just sit and listen to the ocean. Please, please don't let it become Tofino where you can't enjoy what rightfully belongs to the public without paying more than you can afford! I love Ucluelet! <3

Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year.
Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year. The beaches are more rugged than Tofino which makes for dramatic storm watching on windy days. There are some good restaurants and a grocery store, liquor store etc. If you're looking for raging night life, this is not the place. If you're into being outside, it's great. There are tons of trails, beaches and lookouts to explore.

Loved the proximity to the ocean.
Loved the proximity to the ocean. Great hiking trails in the area and quite a few good restaurants. Enjoyed the low key, unpretentious vibe. We aren’t surfers but it looks like a fantastic place to surf.

Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit.
Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit. Their restaurant was so good I ate there 3 times!
Drift Spa at the resort swept me away with four hours of endless Thalassotherapy. They use the cleanest, best skincare on the planet, Seaflora Skincare. Loved my treatments and left stocked up on Seaflora.
Pluvio Restaurant was an experience of its own. We spent 3.5hrs slow food feasting. Peach salmon, hum dogs, pork belly and so many tasty artistic plates that gave us food babies! The chef is truly an artist the way he presents his flavour creations. At one point he gave us these deep fried tomato slice shaped pastry with salmon roe and a creamy sauce… perfect sweet n savory we talked about it for hours!
Pacific Trail was nice, South Beach, Wyat Point… it was all a really nice experience. Heartwood Cafe traditional Benny used real pea meal bacon, which no one out west seems to know about - but that’s how u make a real eggs Benny. Ukee has it all.
Location! Location! as they say. Perfectly quiet at night, not too much hassle of a day time, this hotel is exactly what I was looking for to spend a few days away from the city and ride a bike on the new trail from Ucluelet to Tofino. Great trail, almost finished exept some 900 m by the intersection. Our room had a nice view over the small craft harbor which is an entertainment by itself. Kitchen was well equipped and living room was spacious and clean. Free parking next to you suite is a great bonus here.
The hotel and resturant were outstanding. Clean spacious room, sunny balcony, pet friendly, great bathroom facilities, and amazing breakfast each morning. All the little things are high quality and nothing is missing.
The resturant is on another level for dining experience and great food. Highly recommend eating at the resturant at least one night of a stay.
All the staff are very friendly and amazing at their jobs. The property caters for canine family members.
Perfect stay in Ukee! All the perks of a five-star hotel with the coziness of a tiny boutique hotel. Beautiful, well-decorated and comfortable unit. Great location with an awesome harbour view and an easy walk to anything you might need - from restaurants to groceries to trails. Surprisingly quiet despite the central location. And the hot tub was a welcome bonus after a long day of hiking! Highly recommend.
It was a lovely stay! The room was cozy and comfortable and came stocked with a nice size tv, a mini fridge, microwave, lots of coffee and tea, and a huge bathroom. The beds were super comfortable and clean, and the view from the hotel was amazing! We walked around the harbour in the evening and saw sea lions, jellyfish, eagles, starfish, and even otters! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Everything was great in this place. Separate entrance, super clean, spacious, tasteful décor in interior, lots of closets and perfectly equipped kitchenet with nice dishes and glasses. Hiking trail head was a few hundred meter away from the place. Short drive distance (or you can walk as well) to the center of town of Ucluelet. This place is very-very good. Highly recommend.
Room 201 & 202 have a balcony that overlooks the harbour. Beautiful. The accommodations was decorated with wonderful Indonesian style furniture. Close to all Ucluelet amenities & pristine beach walks. And all of this at a reasonable price compared with other local hotels & motels. And a respite from hyper busy Tofino. Highly recommended. I will be back.
The room was the right size for two adults and our dog, The staff truly understand customer service and were more that wonderful accommodating any requests we had re restaurants on site or in the main village. We will definitely return for another storm watching session not to mention the magical rain forrest that surrounds the Black Rock Resort.
This is a pleasant, well-kept motel in a good location in the center of Ucluelet, an easy walk to restaurants, shops, grocery store, etc. The parking is easy too. Our room was large, comfortable, clean, and quiet. There's even a little bit of a mountain view out the back windows. The price, though high, is a good value for Ucluelet.
The place exceeded our expectations, very clean, the garden is beautiful, the location is perfect for a Tofino/Ucluelet stay, and the host is wonderful. Highly recommend staying here, it is an adorable hidden gem, and not to mention the host knows the area very well so she was very helpful. This made our trip even more special!
It is located close to everything in Ucluelet. The pacific west coast trail is literally right outside your door. The couple who own and maintain the building do a terrific job and they were really easy to talk to. It was very clean and cozy.
This is a well-run accommodation in a quiet part of Ucluelet. We met the owner Molly on departure, she is a very pleasant communicative woman. There were maps in the room and useful information about dining and excursions in the area.
This is a delightful quiet gem— located in the woods above a beach. We were in the lodge but there are also many cabins. It was comfortable and cozy to stay in but also hiking trails and other outdoor adventure are nearby.
a place of beauty and spirit. clean, comfortable and good vibes. people and facilities.
do remember, it is not meant to be a chain hotel experience so if that’s what you need…best go elsewhere.
awesome food too.
Great views from the room, such a warm hospitality. The room is big, beautiful design and very comfortable. Dian helped us to plan our visit in Ucluelet and around and that made our days unforgettable.
A beautiful property in a lovely location.Deer came to the door in the evening! Fantastic place to stay on the edge of Ucluelet Facilities excellent -we stayed an extra night because it was so good.
Gorgeous place to stay with wide windows to let in the daylight. Easy drive to Tofino / Ucluelet attractions / walks / beaches. Our room had everything we needed for our couple of nights away.
