we were at a family reunion and Stettler was the closest town with accommodations. We did have brunch with a friend, eating at The Pump. Although it was very busy and they were short staffed they food and service were very good.

Would never recommend Canalta again.
Would never recommend Canalta again. Bag breakfast, no Gluten Free, mattress rolled to the centre, two light switches but no ceiling lights in main bedroom. Only lamps. Foyer coffee machine didn't work and appeared to be a cheap piece of equipment. Only artificial coffee creamer and heifer dust for coffee whitener.
We left the light on in the bathroom with door partially open for night light and many bugs and wasps found in the bathtub and floor in the morning.
Did not stay here. Booked online with Booking.com was all paid up on cc then 15mins later after already driving there, the front desk called me to let me know that they were booked solid and booking.com should of never made the reservation. The MAN on the phone was pleasant and apologized for booking.com’s mistake. Still no apology from Booking.com. They didn’t even send me my money back until I called and explained what happened and it still took 2 weeks for them to confirm with the hotel.
The property is oddly designed. There is a lower quality motel style with exterior access and a decent newer hotel side that is accessible from the inside. When booking, note what side you’re booking. If it’s exterior avoid this as the rooms are basic and ours smelled of smoke. The front desk agent was kind enough to accommodate us after our complaint. The other side was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay.
I liked the juice, yoghurt, kachi bar& granola bar, fruit cup, for breakfast.
I liked the sitting area by the fire place and the water feature. I enjoyed the swim in the pool. The fella I met at the desk when I checked in gave me another room on the side with the elevator as we have mobility issues, for the same price as the original room which was on the other side of the hotel with no elevator.
What I liked the most was the awesome service of the front desk clerk. After asking why we were on the motel side of the property he advised that it is a Booking.com thing. However he did not hesitate to move me and my mother to the hotel side where we could stay in the building and not have to go outside in the snow storm if we needed any amenities the property offered.
We received a complimentary breakfast. Pick up at front desk and ate in the comfort of our room. The hotel was easy to access in the town. Front desk staff pleasant to communicate with. Lobby had complimentary hot beverages with many choices on the commercial Keurig machine. TV had a lot of channels. Pool, slide, and hot tub all clean and large.
Room was quiet and beds were comfortable. It had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker. Hotel has a restaurant with excellent staff, a lounge and a pool. Check in was fast and easy.
