I travel to Sault Saint Marie for work every 2 weeks.

I travel to Sault Saint Marie for work every 2 weeks. It's got everything one would need when staying there....plenty of decent hotels, eateries and shopping areas. Sault Saint Marie is a town you pass through heading west, or heading east from Manitoba, through Ontario, or to Sault, Michigan.

We were here for fall train trip and it was nice. Not needed again though. We went to a different place for every lunch and dinner. We had 2 serving staff that weren’t of a spicy attitude. The other 2 were nice and friendly. The food was fair but nothing that was amazing. I won’t go to the Sault again. Very pretty area though!

We went for fall foliage and were not disappointed- it was gorgeous! Hike Robertson Cliffs! We also did the Agawa Canyon Train and, hmm. We had hoped for a spectacular train ride, and it wasn't. The canyon itself is gorgeous, but you get 1 1/2 hours there which isn't much considering the train ride is 8 hours r/t. Most of the other passengers were elderly though so it seemed about right for the less mobile. We enjoyed the canal site and all the historical markers, but unfortunately went on Sunday and discovered the visitor center is closed on weekends. Huh? The seaplane museum was open and fascinating.

I went to see my friends and that alone was priceless.

I went to see my friends and that alone was priceless. I went on the Agawa train to the canyon and it was just amazing stunning. The boardwalk along the river was beautiful. Transport with Holiday Shuttle express was super. Staff at the hotel in the Quality Inn were caring, friendly, helpful. Everything was wonderful.

No police in Sault Ste Marie?

No police in Sault Ste Marie? People were drag racing up and down the Main Street in front of hotel all night. Hotel was dated and shabby but clean. For the price it wasn’t good value at all. I’ve paid similar rates at hotels that were well kept and updated. It was clean and staff were nice though.

We drove north of Sault Ste Marie along Lake Superior.

We drove north of Sault Ste Marie along Lake Superior. Absolutely beautiful. We drove up to see the pictographs but I was not able to complete the hike as it was pretty rugged. But my husband did and he got some fabulous photos. Luckily he did not go swimming due to the wet, narrow ledge.

Staff was very polite and friendly. I had some extra requests that were accommodated quickly and without any issues. The room was clean and comfortable. They even had a nice and clean anti-slip mat for the tub, which was great as sometimes hotel/motel tubs are slippery! Usually I would never use something like that at a hotel as they always look unclean, but here everything including it was extremely clean.

Friendly owners welcomed us and our small dog after a long driving day across Ontario on our move out to AB. Our room was comfortable, very clean, and tastefully designed - providing a restful, affordable, convenient, and Covid-safe stop. For any Schitt's creek fans, I described this to my friends as 'the Rosebud vision of future roadside motels'!

The room was clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. The shower was great and everything worked. Staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived in a deluge on my motorbike and was allowed to park it under the portico which I very much appreciated. This hotel is within walking distance of at least one decent restaurant.

I have been traveling in Canada for a month and this is the best 2* Motel BY FAR that I have stayed in. Extremely clean, well located, room was perfect for even more stars. Microwave & fridge worked perfectly. Extra lock on the day for added safety. I was extremely pleased.

The beds are as comfortable and comparable to mattresses I’ve used at The Hilton and other 5 star hotels. I have stayed in many hotels in the Sault (Days Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Microtel) and this is by far the best value for your money. The owner is exceptionally kind.
