We took the ferry as foot passengers from Digby.
We took the ferry as foot passengers from Digby. There is a good taxi service from the ferry terminal. St John offers interesting walks (the reversing rapids is a good day trip on foot), a buzzing nightlife. It's an industrial city with interesting old buildings. Unfortunately the museum is closed indefinitely - hopefully that will be resolved.

It is a beautiful and interesting city.
It is a beautiful and interesting city. We didn't have time to explore much in the city, as we spent more time exploring along the coast. We enjoyed visiting the sea caves, the Bay of Fundy Trail, and the Reversing Falls.

It is a nice town with a lot of history.
It is a nice town with a lot of history. There are some nice places to walk along the water and the reversing falls are cool (best to have a car to visit since you have to go twice a day to get the full effect) We went to two nice restaurants when we were there, and we enjoyed wandering around the container village, the market. Billy's seafood was really good.
There is a bit of a homelessness issue. There are many people who are homeless who seem to mill around the city. We had a number of people yell at us as we walked and it was not pleasant.

The microbrewery/pubs were great.
The microbrewery/pubs were great. The downtown area is interesting. It is an industrial city. We went to the reversing falls. The center is across the street from the Irving Pulp and Paper factory. A bit disappointing.

We loved Saint John a lot . The people are very friendly. We also loved looking at the old buildings around town . The reversing falls are a must see ! We'll be back to stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites as well . Their staff are super friendly ,and a sweet young lady helped me find the perfect beach ⛱ great experience
Very well appointed rooms, comfortable, and excellent full breakfast included. Great value for the price. Felt like we were at a much more expensive hotel!
I have unfortunately forgotten the name of the lovely woman who presides over the breakfast room and serves up the hot foods, but she was a delight!
We had no problem walking the mile or so to a restaurant by the port for dinner, but be aware that it is a hilly walk and includes crossing one busy intersection with pedestrian lights before getting to picturesque little streets.
Carl and Jim and the Mahagony Manor were a real find. Sitting out on the front porch in the evening for conversation made us feel at home. They are both warm and delightful and an integral part of Saint John which allowed us to have a insightful understanding of the gifts of of the community. Extra perks included being able to book amazing massages by Carl and have access to laundry. Great food, wonderfully quiet and within walking distance of everything. We'll definitely return there.
The experience at the Homeport Historic B&B was absolutely great! The inn is charming with a beautiful victorian style decor. Everything was clean and tidy. David the owner was there to greet us personally and provided great tips for our leisure trip in Saint John. The breakfast was hot and freshly prepared by the owner. I would highly recommend to sleep at this bed and breakfast and will certainly return next time i’m in Saint John.
Location was very good to meet our two main needs. Cost efficient hotel near downtown Saint John (15 minute drive) for evening activities, and 10 minute drive to Nova Scotia ferry boat the next morning. Easy access to car from our room for loading and unloading gear. Room generally met our needs.
proprietor, lovely man! simple property, nice clean place to lay your head. had window that opened for fresh air and view. nice neighborhood. this sweet, simple option beats paying double or triple st the options uptown Saint John.
Breakfast was N.A. Communication was good. Location was great. Parking explained well. Bed comfortable and rooms decorated tastefully. Love the idea of rehabbing old buildings and turning them into upscale apartments/hotels.
The hotel was conveniently located and had a good breakfast available. Rooms were spacious enough and quiet. The bathroom in the room was clean and updated. For the rate paid it was a fair experience overall.
A lovely Victorian preserved house with an interesting history. Rhe bed was comfortable and the breakfast freshly made. The hosts are friendly and helpful. In Saint John, it is a place we would stay again!
Such fantastic hosts - so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about Saint John. Excellent location in the old town area. Gorgeous and opulent home! First B&B stay in a long time and it was fantastic!
everyone will love this B&B if you have a chance to stay here. I personally like more the city Saint John because of this B&B's historic background. great breakfast the owners made it.
The location is great for anyone visiting Saint John. The restaurant had delicious food and the beds were very comfortable. The check-in process is always quick and painless.
Great location for accessing all that old Saint John has to offer, friendly and helpful staff, and all the facilities you need in a hotel....what's not to like!
