Good location, convenient parking, spacious (altough dated) rooms, nice view
Located in Vancouver’s Harbor City, The Spot offers free WiFi and is within walking distance to a coin-operated launderette. This property is a 0.9 mi drive from Nanaimo city center.
Nanaimo is a cool little city. Depending on the goal of your trip renting a vehicle is recommended, since the city is spread out. As well there is much to see in surrounding areas. With the ocean, mountains and forest this community is surrounded by nature and beauty!

We had a great dinner at Firehouse Grill and fantastic coffee at Regards Coffee and the walk along the waterfront was nice but nothing super special, in all honesty it's kind of a dreary, quiet place that isn't very pretty. Maybe it has way more to offer than what meets the eye but I truly wouldn't care to stay there for more than a night passing through.

There was a couple of RATS outside by the pool but they stayed away from people. The hot tub wasn’t working either. But the pool was GLORIOUS and the room was clean to perfection. It was a nice place to sleep in!

I didn't see much of Nanaimo, just Petraglyph Park, before heading to Victoria. This side of Nanaimo was quiet, and I left very early. One great thing about South Nanaimo is its proximity to the Duke Point Ferry - a short drive. Also, the lack of nightlife meant my visit was quiet.
I would recommend visiting Petraglyph Park. It's not easy to find it, you have to be driving on the northbound side, but it's beautiful. I've enjoyed other aspects of Nanaimo in the past, especially the Woodgrove area, and I've found people there very friendly.

The ocean was the best part as there are many places to visit and the views are awesome. People were very friendly everywhere I went. The city is kept quite clean. Parks are nicely attended. Overall visit was very pleasant. Easy to get around having a vehicle as everything is very spread out. Piper's Cove and the harbor downtown were favorite.
the reception stayed open an extra 30 minutes because we were running late for check in which was really appreciated after a long drive in some heavy rain that put us behind. the room was spacious and I had the best nights sleep I had had yet in my 2 weeks of being in Canada, milk portions instead of dried milk was a treat. far better
thanks so much
Our arrival at 11:00 pm was easy and the desk clerk was helpful and welcoming. We had flown from Reykjavik to Vancouver, then travelled by skytrain, bus, ferry to Nanaimo and taxi to the hotel: a very long day! The room was comfortable and the hotel was quiet, providing much-needed rest after an exhausting journey.
Harbour Light Motel is just right for an overnight stay for people like me who need to take a ferry to the BC mainland. Its location is perfect for either of the Nanaimo ferries. The rooms are clean and quite comfortable. Harbour Light is just a very good place for an overnight stay.
The location was perfect for what we needed. Had a family member in the Hospital in Nanaimo. This location was 2km from the hospital and about the same distance from the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. The room was spacious and minimalistic. Again it was perfect for what we needed.
The breakfast was the best I had in my 6 weeks travelling in Canada. The room is very quiet to the back garden with chicken. Anthea is a very friendly host, who tried to help me with everything. The rooms are very nicely decorated. Nanaimo is in a short walking distance.
The unit with spotless, new, well laid out. It was very secure with the codes for a front door and hotel room door. The shower was to die for. This hotel by far exceeded my expectations based on the inexpensive price. The reception staff was very pleasant.
The location is pretty convenient to the downtown area, and it's about C$20 cheaper than 2* hotels with private rooms. The shared kitchen is nice for camaraderie but the stoves are in poor repair and the equipment (knives etc.) is crap.
We have lived in Vancouver Island for 47 years. Only the second time we have had reason to stay in Nanaimo. I will certainly recommend The Inn on Long Lake to friends. An peaceful oasis 8n the midst of strip mall city
No breakfast.
Room was nicely done up & quite comfortable. The hotel is good place for a short stay located at the top of a hill on a major road, so it is a bit noisy. Bearable, though.
Very welcoming with a cute welcome book for the area, clean and probably one of the comfiest bed I've slept in! Nanaimo is a small town and this was an easy drive to everything.
