A charming inn. The location was good for walking into town. ( Duckys pub....great craft beer selection)
The property was safe and secure. We had already stopped in roadside motels on our trip back from Ontario and did not get value for money, or feel that our trailer full of belongs would still be there when we woke up in the morning... So that was a great feeling for us.
We had a lovely wander round the inn the next morning. The dining room and sitting rooms were very impressive with how the history of this beautiful inn has been preserved.
We stayed in the carriage house at the back of the property overlooking gardens. The big stuffed toy dog was a cute touch.....makes you smile.
So if you want a break from boring "run of the mill motels" on your road trip and want to relax in a small town for the night....this is a lovely spot.
Conveniently located off Highway 2, this New Brunswick motel has simply furnished rooms with cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Mount Allison University is 6 minutes’ drive away.

Quiet location, comfortable beds, large rooms and exceptional bathrooms. Every detail was top notch, breakfast was varied, always well presented and very tasty. Marisa, Jeff and Rosie were wonderful hosts, friendly, caring and obviously dedicated to offering the finest bed and breakfast experience possible. I think they succeeded and would recommend them to anyone and will certainly stay there again, if possible. The little touches were much appreciated, cookies, chocolates, slices of apple cake and the refill of the creamer for my in-room coffee. The Keurig coffeemakers in each room worked great, a nice prelude to breakfast coffee and easy to use. You will not regret a stay here, we found that none of our other trip accommodations could compete with Maplehurst Manor.

Amherst is a very interesting and historical town with several sites of interest (ie museums). The Armoury is a must see!!The stone buildings are beautiful. Enjoyed the shopping experience in the downtown core. People are very friendly. It's easy to get around.

I have friends who live in Amherst, and lived there for a short time many years ago. Amherst does not have a lot for tourists. We were there for a reunion at the Baptist Church. I forgot how beautiful it was
Amherst is close to Springhill, which does not have a hotel. If anyone likes Anne Murray they would love her museum, and a Tour of the Mine is well worth the visit.

I just wanted a plazce to stay for the night, have some dinner and sleep. I went a few blocks away to eat, however, you can order food from their dining room which was closed for renovations but we did have a good breakfast.

Went for the nearby Joggins Fossil Museum.
Went for the nearby Joggins Fossil Museum. That was excellent. Scenic drives were beautiful but not for a timid driver. We didn;t find any particularly good restaurants. The best food was from a caterer that Trip Advisor wrongly said was also a restaurant. But they fed us anyway. The people in general are very friendly and accomadating.
the most amazing was the view from the room - the whole wall is window and the view of the country-side and wind mills is spectacular. the room is large and comfortable. The staff was very nice. Bonus points for real mugs and glasses in the room and real dishes at the breakfast (I mean not disposable).
for the view - best will be from the upper floor, direction of the back side of the hotel.
The suite was really a suite – with a separate (albeit small) living room and bedroom, separated by the bathroom. it was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was pretty good, although the eating area was a little crowded. The hotel was handy to the highway with ample parking; there was a shopping area nearby.
Room was nice and clean but otherwise, almost nothing was liked. Hotel staff was nice to a point but things did not run smoothly at all, was kept up till 1am to figure out room situations, and was charged more than I was expecting to pay as we ended up paying a regular room price and not the booking.com price
The breakfast was almost non existent. I looked at it and just went to Tim Hotons. The price was cheap compared to other Hotels so I wasn't that upset even with my Tim Hortons it was cheaper. Also pool doesn't work. No big deal for me but people with kids probably want to play in the pool.
The Amherst Wandlyn Inn proved to be convenient to the highway and the town. Our room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. In late May, there were few tenants and no breakfast. Town rumor has it that the new owner is converting the very large building to apartments.
Great transit hotel. Everything is super clean. Good place to spend a night for the price it is. The size of the king room I was in exceeded what I expected. Everything in the room was well stocked and it made for a pleasant stay.
We’ve never stayed at a Super 8 before but was surprised by how clean it was, it had comfortable beds and pillows and the pool and hot
tub was an added bonus after a day of hiking in Cape Breton National Park.
The location was good and the standard Comfort Inn breakfast was fine although they only had 2 tables and 4 chairs in the breakfast area in a hotel with at least 40 rooms.
The hotel is in an excellent location for travelling it is just off the highway. The staff is friendly and made us feel welcome. The hotel is very clean.
