Tweed Heads is at an intersection between NSW and Queensland. A great place to stay both if travelling or visiting the surrounding area. The beach is soothing, the weather wonderful (mostly) and restaurants a plenty. It's a great place to wind down and recover.

Staff rude and jaded.
Staff rude and jaded.

Cabin old musty smell with food stains and other marks on ceiling.
In general cabin old and worn out.
Anyone who visits the Gold Coast during summer knows that hotel rooms are at a premium, let alone at short notice. We stayed a night to visit family who were staying in Cooloongatta, so this was a convenient option. The room was well appointed with crockery, cutlery, a bar fridge, microwave etc. After going to beach, we needed a decent hot shower and there were no issues. Bed was comfortable enough and blackout curtains were helpful in the morning with the bright summer sun. There's a pool but we didn't have a chance to use it.
The staff were exceptional and the rooms were clean, quiet and bug free (despite the tropical climate). We were allowed to check in EXCEPTIONALLY early and check out an hour late (brilliant). The rooms are a very good size and the price for all this was a bargain. We appreciated the bottled water, coffee, milk and biscuits, especially on arrival. Sorry we didn't use the pool or WiFi so can't rate them. We would definitely stay there again when in Tweed Heads.
It's pet friendly, my little jack russel terrier (Jakx) had a wonderful time hanging out in the little back courtyard. They even provide a little doggie water bowl! The bed was really comfy and I asked the owner if they minded Jakx sleeping in bed with me, and they were cool! Communication was good, the internet was fast (had to do a bit of Teams meeting), and the neighbourhood seemed nice (police station just around the corner).
The location was great ! The staff were very helpfulness. The parking. Plenty of parking. We could walk to the shops. The bus stop was right outside practically. I could leave the car there all day & walk or get a bus to Tweed Heads / Coolangatta.
I liked the fact that the weather was kind to us & I could sit outside my room in the sun & read or play my ukelele. Daniel on the reception was very informative & helpful.
The service of the motel staff was friendly. We will be staying again, but not in that room. We will book our prior years room again (we had asked to book that room this time but obviously it wasn’t available). The view was nice with lots of light in the room, NSW shops were close and the connecting Club offers plenty of options for dinning out.
This was a last minute booking and I was pleasantly surprised at how great the place was. Our 3 bedroom cabin (more like a house!) had 2 bathrooms and was huge. It was clean and even though it was not new there were lots of little decorative touches to make it more inviting. It was nice and quiet at night.
The double mattress in the main bedroom was very comfortable. Has the basics for gas stove top cooking and microwave that you can easily work with for meals. A small oven would have been handy but not essential. Found cabins to be quiet when inside.
A very lovely Motel, pet friendly so that was awesome, the owner Brett was so accomodating, friendly and kind. The room was very clean, crisp linen. Perfect location, great price. I would highly recommend The Blue Pelican Motel. 10 /10
I like that it is close to everything essential, it is also close to the beaches, the place was great and relaxing. The staff are really hospitable. We will surely choose this place again when we go for another trip in Tweed Heads.
Great location in downtown Tweed Heads.
Enough cooking facilities to self-cater at least some meals.
Free use of laundry facilities.
Coffee machine in the room.
A good "old school" motel, in the best sense of the world.
